Really like what we saw on this trip. This team is already really good defensively. 3 point shooting can improve for sure, and Damask will be a huge help with that. Also Luke will find his groove and shot better during the year. Good to see the free throw shooting get better every game though.

As of right now, I would say this team is a 3-4 seed with a chance to exceed that. Deepest team we've had in a while. Wouldn't be surprised if the kenpom at the end of the year says top 2-3 defensively and 30-35 offensively

For those who were there, looks like DGL had 5 fouls in 16 minutes- any insight to what was going on there? Ticky-tack stuff, getting handsy, or being put in a blender and a step behind?

Not trying to overreact to this Spain trip, and certainly have to factor in the quality of competition, but wondering how big the gap between DGL and Moretti really is. I understand athleticism is a big differentiator, but I suspect they’re going to have the same struggles guarding opposing B1G point guards given their respective builds. Moretti seems like a natural facilitator with phenomenal court vision; DGL seems like more of an Epps-type bucket-getter. Both could be + shooters, but I think based on the stats on this trip, Moretti was a lot more efficient. Moretti has had more time in the system and seems like he’s prone to making fewer careless mistakes on the offensive end (stupid shots, turning it over, etc.) and could be the true facilitating PG who’s an actual threat from deep that we need. However, I understand Moretti is likely to be a massive liability defensively which will limit his court time in a Brad Underwood system even if he was Steve Nash on the other end. My point being, I’m not sure DGL will grade out that much better defensively, and Moretti could plug a lot of holes we’re missing on offense as one of the only true 1’s on this roster.

I don't think you can really make any determinations like that because of the level of competition and the non-typical lineups in the game. These games are glorified practices where you just try things out.

One thing I do think we can pull from this trip is we do not appear to be a good 3 point shooting team.

Yep...if they can figure out who's hot (from 3p) and know when to stop shooting if they are not, we will be OK.

Inconsistency will be something we may need to work around.

Is Shannon just streaky from 3 or are there actual places and situations that he excels on the 3s. Right now he's feast or famine, but if we actually had a read on what's happening on the shots that he's making (off the dribble, top of the key, etc.) maybe we could increase his efficiency.
