Yeah Heyward is valuable when he takes proper routes to balls, doesn't drop fly balls after taking pour routes, doesn't turn singles in the doubles, and doesn't lose games for us running the bases like a little leaguer.

Ok yeah I am riding Heyward really hard and I don't know why other than I just haven't been impressed yet.

Ok. Heyward is now my favorite player. Carry on.

Do we need to go on a losing streak or something? Noone is posting anymore. Yet another great batting game. I would love for Grichuk to stay hot and for him to stay in lineup, even when Jay comes back, if he does. Jay is ok but his arm is weak, his range isn't great and he is a singles hitter without a ton of speed.

Lumber lumbering is always fun, but C Mart's very strong showing was nicer still. Grichuk's triple in the 9th was blatant trolling LOL.:p

Let's see how Jaime does tomorrow. I'm pulling for him, he had the stuff to be great before he got injured...but that was a loooong time ago.

Grichuk has raked the last few games. His catch in center got me out of my seat! Love beating up on a pitching staff that was top 10 (before the series ;)) Hayward has become one of my favorites as well...off topic but he plays the right so well, hope we lock him up!

Grichuk just needs to cut down on the K's. He struck out 5 times 2 days ago and his average dropped from something like .270 to .190. Then he had the big game yesterday and his average jumped back to around .270 lol. If he can find some consistency, to add to the pop Wong and Carpenter have been showing, then this lineup looks very dangerous.

That's the thing, it looks so much more dangerous with Grichuk than with Jay.

Grichuk with another great grab in Center today! Showing more pop than Jay in the short time he's seen the field. I think if he gets a consistent amount of ABs then I think his consistancy goes up.

Grichuk strikes out too much right now. He's never hit over .250 in any level either. I love his potential, I just hope he realizes it.

Didn't get to watch the game today, but it looks like Jaime had a good performance. And is it just me or are we striking out a lot more lately. 13 K's today.

When I was listening to the game Horton made a note about the s5rike zone being wide, but then Jaime wasn't getting the corners. So I don't know how much that affected the game.

Matt Adams out 3-4 months after suffering a severely strained quad injury in last night's game. Last I saw, it was not yet known if he would have to undergo surgery on the injury.

Let's see what Reynolds can do. I think he's been perfect as a bench bat who can play first, third, or a corner outfield spot...but I'm not sure he's the guy we want in their everyday. I was trying to think of players who could switch to first mid season. Jason Heyward seems like the best fit, but you obviously wouldn't want to take one of the best outfielders in the league out of his position. Maybe let Grichuk and Bourjos handle center and put Jay at first. Not much flexibility right now for Matheny.

Adams will have surgery:

The article also discusses other possible players for first base to back up Reynolds (Molina, Cruz, Easley, Kozma, Carpenter, Skuggs)

Please not Molina. The only reason he should not be behind the playe is for rest. Easley's name sounds familiar, but I don't know anything about him...has he been called up for us before? I like the idea of Carpenter moving over and putting Kozma at 3rd.

Rumors floating around the internet about us potentially going after Ryan Howard. I don't think theres much truth behind the rumors, just fun speculation.
I am personally content with Reynolds at 1st with Carp getting some time at first sliding Kozma there or plugging Skuggs in on Reynolds off days. Skuggs is a big bat (when he makes contact) but I feel he is never going to get time in the OF, maybe some time at first in the majors will be what he needs.

First, this isn't great news, but nothing I don't think we can't withstand. I believe he had only 4hr with 20RBI to date(from my memory bank), so that can be replaced, but I definitely don't want to rush into anything. I wouldn't mind calling on the D'Backs and seeing what Trumbo would cost. The D'Backs have a glutton of outfielders and I'm sure they would like to get Trumbo in the infield, but there is a guy by the name of Goldschmidt there.

With all of that said, we can't have Reynolds there at first long term and we can't have the shuffle going on with players. I say take our time and let's make the most thought out move possible.

Another team I would call in time would be the Rockies. I would definitely inquire about Justin Morneau.
