How do you Cards fans feel about last night? (Not coming on here to gloat just wanted a different perspective) Tonight should be a real good one.
Not great, but not in panic mode. Schildt can’t trust any arm in the bullpen but 3 and they can’t pitch everyday. We get chances, but as if late haven’t had that hit to push a few across. Goldy got one last night, but he and Arenado have missed chances as of late. I don’t like our offensive production from the outfield, missing TON isn’t helping, but I’m not sold on him either. I think The SD series took some wind out of the sails. Justin Williams is not a major league player right now and Lane isn’t much better.
Tonight should be fun, the storyline is fantastic no matter the outcome.

I didn't watch the whole game. But from what I saw, Lynn pitched a heck of a game. Facing St Lou for the 1st time since they let him go, he had every reason to go for it. I would have scored the first base hit an error on Anderson.Especially when a no hitter was on the line. I have a feeling if that had been the only "hit" the official scorer would have found an excuse to change his ruling after the game.
Kim is still trying to establish himself after missing time due to injury. He was in and out of trouble all night long. For the most part he made his way through it but he was spent by the time he got to the 6th. If I was the mgr I am not sure I would have pulled him either. It's a tough decision to make. I don't get all warm and fuzzy when Ponce De Leon comes into the game so if those are my only two options, 90-10 I go with the fatigued Kim.
Putting Carpenter at first base is a horrible idea.

I realize Luis Robert is on the IL, but St Lou has been hit hard too. Bader, O'Neill and De Jong are out of the lineup. Carlson was back only because they don't have another option. Goldy and Arenado seem to struggle especially when runners are on base.

I guess they will go back out and try again.
3 of the top 4 OF are out. Jimenez and Engle are out too. It's been pretty crazy. Vaughn has showed pretty well and Engle may finally get healthy. The Sox are about to get better.

Last night was the oddest game I have ever watched.

Why wasn't there a statcast video of O'Neils homer last night. That was a fricken bomb.

There was later on in the game. The thing that McLaughlin and Edmonds couldn't understand was how short they said it was initially (416) as opposed to what it actually ended up being (450).

I did appreciate when they showed a somewhat closer shot of the scoreboard where it hit and you could see where all the dents were from all the baseballs that have hit that scoreboard over the years.

I didn't see it in the mlb app was why I asked. But damn that was a bomb. I still don't think Statcast works correctly. The homer earlier in the year that was estimated to be like 10 feet past the fence that clearly landed well beyond 50 feet past was irritating. It was in Pittsburgh I believe.

The other thing about the distance on Thursday night was how far would the ball have gone if there wasn’t a wall there? The ball was high and hit hard.

Our bullpen and reliance on homer's on offense are going to kill us. And now Jack is hurt. I was listening on radio while driving home from out of town and when they said Helsley was warming up right after Jack batted, I knew right away it had to be oblique. I guess we find out for sure tomorrow.

The ownership/front office just seems to be constantly caught off guard by our shortcomings. The offense was stagnant the past few years but is now putting up good run production. Now the bullpen isn’t just bad. It is historically bad.

The bullpen fools me every year. If I think that they will be solid, not so much. When I am worried, 2-3 young guys come in and light it up. I should have learned by now.

It was nice that Carlson hit a home run in front of family and friends. It would have been even better if it was the game winner.

Just saw this.

Ozuna's arrest came nearly a year to the date that his wife, Genesis, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor domestic battery.

was going to write something witty, but decided to leave it.

Welp, Kim and Williams to the IL. Angel Rondon has been promoted now.

Oviedo is expected to start today and Angel Rondon is gonna be used as a long reliever for the time being.

With the Cardinals having off days Monday and Thursday of this week, it's entirely possible the Cardinals may not need another replacement starter if KK is only out 10 days.

For only 2nd time this season, and first in a victory, the Cardinals pitching staff allowed 0 walks in tonight's 8-2 victory over Cleveland. The only other time it happened this season was in the complete game loss Wainwright had in late April vs. the Phillies.
