Mo had a few terrible quotes from earlier this weekend. He doesn’t understand the lack of ticket sales as well as the lack of offense. He seriously can’t be that oblivious. He might be too deep in the cyber metrics but any average fan can see that the upper management botched it this season - failed to capitalize on some special talent that we have. Shildt just isnt the skipper we thought he was. He’s great for the minors but he shouldn’t touch this big league team. The off-season will be huge. I do think Waino is coming back for one more but they damn well better get some offense and some relief pitching.

2nd pitch. According to mlbatbat, 1st pitch was a strike called a ball. So who knows what it ND pitch could have been had it been called a strike on pitch 1.

The worst part of these last couple of weeks, look at the blown games at Pittsburg and last Sunday’s fiasco in Milwaukee, they would be tied with San Diego right now. I know it sounds like Beckman.

The Pittsburgh game was a real gut punch, and the one in Milwaukee a back breaker. Need to handle Cincinnati this weekend.

OK, after watching football the past couple of weeks, maybe I should start paying attention the Cards again. 1 game back of both Cincy and SD. They don't play Cincy again, but the Padres are coming up.

I second thought, since they have played better while I ignore them, I should still just check scores and standing but not watch the games?

My first year of NOT watching the cardinals in over 30 + years due to the sale of tv coverage to Bally Sports and not being offered here in Paducah......I've missed it somewhat but I end up watching highlights and condensed game coverage online ........

Arenado is on fire and I'm amazed at Wainwright's mastery this year.....I read he is gonna play another year....surely it will be with the redbirds....

They seem to do better when I ignore them as well. But I've been told that it's bad luck to be superstitious. ;)

Cards have gone 12-13 since August 15 and yet have still gained 2 games on the Reds and 3.5 games on the Padres during that time.

It's frustrating as a Cubs fan to know that if they hadn't done the sell off, they could have gone about .500 after the trade deadline and they'd probably be a couple games out of the playoffs. (Cardinals were 51-50 on July 27, Cubs were 50-51.) So, kudos to the Cardinals for, if not completely going for it, at least not throwing in the towel.

The Cardinals have blown at least 3 recent games against the Pirates and Brewers with big leads going into the last inning. They’ve choked so many times in late innings.

The Cards have probably the most daunting schedule of anyone in the wild card race. Mets, Padres, 2 series each with the Brewers and Cubs. LA obviously, and then Cinci has the best shot IMO.

I was just surprised, after their August, that they actually improved their position (slightly) after a tough stretch.

Padres lose out in San Fran again and Reds lose at Pittsburgh tonight so Cardinals are officially all alone in the 2nd wild card spot. .5 game up on the Reds and a full game up on San Diego.

All 9 starters got a hit tonight. And all starters but the battery scored at least 1 run.
