St Louis Cardinals 2026

Church has shown this year why he has been called the best fielding outfielder in the Cardinals organization for the last couple of years......It's been great to see his improvement on the offensive side also......it really really has..............

Cub fan here.
Yadi: Before the pitch clock. I forget the circumstances and even the Cub player. In Wrigley, Cub coming up to bat deserved an ovation from the fans, but he wasn't the type to stand around tipping his cap while people cheered. He just got in the box to hit. Yadi called time, stepped out from behind the plate and stood there while people cheered.
While a young Willson C was catching for the Cubs he didn't throw out a base stealer while Yadi was on deck. Yadi comes up to bat and tells Willson to bring the glove to the throwing spot is one motion. Reaching the throwing hand to the glove and then bringing it back up to throw is 2 motions. He threw out the next base stealer, looked at the Cardinal dugout and gives a respectful nod. Cub coaches said, paraphrasing "He's young, we just hadn't gotten around to telling him that yet". They should have said, "Genius! You have to love Yadi for telling an opponent something that we didn't know!!!! If we had known we would have been teaching it in the minors"

I would have voted for him.

Man, the Cards are so much more fun to watch this year than in recent memory (and much better so far, to boot)!

Amazing what can happen when you trim dead wood front office execs and veteran codgers who refuse to lead or mentor the young guys.

It does seem that Walker is getting it figured out at the plate. We all know he's got enormous potential.

Watched yesterday's game. Hoped it would be a sweep of the Dodgers, but no go. This is a team without a dominant star. Not a single one. And. yet, they are 20-14. Go figure.

Leahy with a good 5.1 IP for the win going to 4-3..............
O'Brien gets his 10th save of the season.......

Herrera 2-5 with a bases loaded double for 3 RBI's..........
Wetherholt 2-4 , 2 RBI's.....
Gorman 2-4 ....

I wish Pru's bestest frend the best also. It won't help his heart to watch our bullpen. They do make things interesting. Cards are 21-13 and alone in second place. Last night's win over the Brewers brought the home record above .500. Wins on the road have been satisfying all season.

Unreal......Stank pitches an inning and didn't walk anyone......

BTW , kudos to VS II for his perfect sacrifice bunt to move 2 runners up right b4 Herrera's big 3 rbi double....

Agree completely. A video of that bunt would be a very good thing to show to youth league and high school players.

Stanek threw 7 pitches and 6 were strikes! I’ll need a couple more outings until I believe.

One of my cherished memories came the first week of May in 1954, when I listened on my radio as Stan The Man clobbered 5 homers in a Busch Stadium doubleheader against the (New York) Giants. I think Musial had 9 rbi that day. I did a little research; only one other player has ever done that. It was sometime in the '70s, I think. I can't remember his name or the team he played for.
