Congrats THT. You ran a great recruitment process. Hope you have an exceptional basketball career --- and never have to play against ILL.

I also wondered what the tears might have been about. Wish the kid nothing but the best

Good luck to the kid.

Wished to have him at Illinois.

Unfortunate turn of events today and not something I’m proud to be a part of, sadly.

If what Piper and Werner said on Tay and Carp is true. No one gets to talk about how classless other programs are from this point forward. This 16 year old kid wanted to come to UI last night and we just pulled the rug out from under him on the day of his announcement. I have been a big fan of UI for thirty years and will continue to be but this was an embarrassment and completely bush league by our staff.

This was worse than the Eric Gordon and Cliff Alexander actions.

Sadly who get's jerked around is the young man.

Somewhat agree, but it's not like the kids career is ruined or something. Like others have said, he could've committed to UI a long time ago.

But ultimately, like Robert Smith said, he gets a free education from a good university and gets to play the game he loves. THT will be just fine, and I hope he tears it up at ISU (except against us).

Best of luck to him. I hope he does well.

I hope so too. Given everything surrounding Simeon, MIF and Ayo.....he made the best decision. I would have advised the same decision. He should be enjoying himself, not knowingly putting himself in a distressed situation. It's a shame, but it will all work out one way or another.

Man, I feel terrible for him. Playing for Iowa State is still a pretty great outcome, though. I hope he kills it there.

We need talent to win. If BU doesn't get Ayo this class is seen as a complete dissapointment. BU's job is not to try and please everyone, he's here to win games.

Talen is a good young man, and he’ll make the best out this situation. I’ll be rooting for him to pound Kansas and Texas on a regular basis.

Welp. There likely goes our Simeon pipeline. :(

And what pipeline was that?

Tate, Nunn and DJ Williams who came to UI

Or

Derick Rose and Jabari Parker, who didnt bother with us?

There is no pipeline. MIF gave us more in one day than Simeon has since Deon Thomas.
