If it happened in a bar, and wasn't consensual, seems like there would've been a huge scene made with a ton of witnesses (more than a nurse and a couple cops, anyway). If this did happen in a bar, and no police report from the incident, then man... idk...
It's really fight, flight, or freeze. Some people freeze in those situations and can't force themselves to move or cause a scene.

If it's true that she thought he was a football player and only protested when she found out that he plays basketball, there wouldn't have been scene. My best guess is that those witnesses are just to confirm that both of them were there and the contact happened

Didn't this story come from a random reply on twitter? I'm just trying to keep up.
Yes. From an account with minimal followers and the image was posted at least five times under various tweets about Shannon. Do with that what you will.

And if it is a case of football player versus finding out he's not later... can you retract consent after the fact?

This is why what everyone has heard likely isn't what actually occurred. We have zero information as to what took place, and we have people on the internet making stuff up out of thin air, and the masses further propagating it.

I probably need to just step away from this situation and stop following this, because its useless right now. Nobody is going to know anything until whatever trial happens, is over with. That's going to be a long, long wait.

The image looks like it came from sort of message? IDK. Where there's smoke...that said, I find it telling that there is a nurse on the witness list. That would suggest a visit to the hospital fairly quickly? I am not sure why you would list a nurse as a witness if she didn't have relevant testimony for your case. I'll shut up and wait now.

I don't think you should be able to, but it sounds like that's the argument the woman and her attorney are putting forth. The coercion in this place is based on her believing he was a football player. I don't think the argument is going to be physical restraint, but I'm swagging it .

It comes down to if you thought he was cute and wanted him to touch you, it shouldn't matter what kind of athlete he is. But that's just me

Does anyone know when Whitman is giving a press conference on this? And will we be able to watch it?

6 PM this evening … Brad will talk post game … About the game … Will defer comments on the TJ situation to Josh …

I am sure Jeremy or Wagner or Piper will get the video uploaded to YouTube for everyone … They always do a good job of that …

Sadly, whatever timeline that’s in, that time has already passed. He’s already been charged. He’s past the indictment stage.

Besides, if we were in one of the good timelines we wouldn’t still be waiting for our first national championship. 🫤
Woah, wait, I missed this reply. Do we actually know this? Charges have been pressed (complaint), but we've heard nothing about a grand jury indictment. Both are "charges", but they are significantly different, and available info says we've only seen the former, not the latter.

Getting caught up all the news from yesterday…No matter what actually happened here, the situation is just bad. This won’t be resolved prior to the end of the season (good or bad) so basically season is over (at least a special season any way).

There is one fact that I haven’t seen anywhere, where TF were Harmon and Redd? They weren’t protecting the #1 player on the team during a trip (ie just generally preventing dumb things no matter what), especially during a pivotal season for him.

If I’m reading into this correctly…

Terrence’s camp strongly believes he is innocent, to the point that they feel they can prove innocence to University officials & DIA. Their goal is to get him reinstated ASAP

Terrence will likely still have this trial drag on for months longer… Terrence does not want to settle.

IF Josh, Brad & Terrence’s camp have evidence and strong strong belief that he is innocent their goal is to get him to play while the trial is ongoing and prepare for public backlash.

This is best case scenario for the short term I presume?

Morally, you should not be able to retract consent. Anyone could retract consent if they want to ruin someone's life or if they are going for some kind of revenge play. There is a difference between having regrets about the activity that occurred and saying that you didn't consent to it when you did consent to it

So we think this girl was forcibly restrained, fingered, non-consensually and she didn't raise any concern with even one of the likely hundreds of people there that could have intervened in some way, called the police, etcetera? Idk, I'm having a real hard time with it being non-consensual, particularly with use of force as is indicated in the charge, and not one person noticing nor the accuser saying anything to any one of the (again) hundreds of people that would've been there. There's something more to this, because what we know, doesn't make sense to me at all.
I wasn't there. I have no idea what happened. Even if I were there, I might not have any idea what actually happened.

What we know is that the accuser told that police that she didn't consent and that after about four months of investigation, the authorities believe that her account has enough merit to go forward with charges. Does this prove anything? No. However, I think we've learned enough about sexual assault over the past few decades to understand that in many cases, victims don't loudly protest or immediately report what occurred for one of many reasons. So while this would be an area that likely would be challenged by the defense if the case went to trial, it does not, in and of itself, mean that the accusation lacks merit.

What was an 18 year old doing in a bar? Is that relevant?

But that would be the entire point of the defense challenging it, because it makes the accusation seem... well... not possible.

It just doesn't seem plausible and I think we all need to come to grips with the fact that this story was made up by some person on the internet.
