I thought it was a little awkward that the Nike guy said we each are "a fighting illini" when we usually use it as a collective term. Individually we are Illini, or one of the Fighting Illini. Not the same as "I am a Buckeye" or "I am a Hoosier". I am an Illini. He is an Illini. We are THE Fighting Illini.

Maybe I had better go find something else to do....I hope the football jerseys for sale look good. I don't know if my son is going to want the basketball shorts.

the silver/grey alernate jersey will say "Fighting Illini" and have other graphics as well.

there is a reason TB was pointing to the grey background

It's really unfortunate that we won't see them now, but there will be Fighting Illini basketball unis, I have no doubt. BUT it still is disappointing that there isn't any Fighting Illini on ANY uniform. Plus we should have seen the silver and multiple combinations from football. No way that leak was planned because it made this unveiling VERY anticlimactic. Let's hope we see some more goodies soon. But, we do look good now.

I'm 24 and I love these bball jerseys, obviously I want "Fighting" to be on them but I think that comes in time.

Again, I'd really like to see just a quick video of a basketball move in that uniform. To put it in Groce's words, it's gonna be "like they're on fire"

I have quite a few friends who are anti Illinois (I'm not sure why) but they sent texts saying these uniforms look really good.

Right. We couldve totally done that with the cursive 80's Illinois orange font on grey jerseys. Wouldve been sick.

I was literally the first person at Krannert to see this bad boy (that's my tweet on the first page) so I was a little disappointed that I waited all that time to not see anything new. I like the zig-zags even if they aren't a nod at the chief. But since they so clearly are, I love them even more haha. Thanks for the fun thread though, got all caught up on my walk home haha.
