OK, then, metallic orange. Whatever you want to call it, I'm looking forward to seeing it on the field.
I don't I'm anyone watched the Maryland vs. Syracuse game, but I always look at SU (UVA as well) uniforms because they are close in color to the Illini. Today, they were white helmet, blue jersey and blue pants. I wasn't wild about it, but in general I prefer the blue to the orange.

Uh oh, looks like all of our shields are incorrect...
Haha, the "Incorrect" shield above was the Shield that I posted the night of the leaks or the morning after. I created it in PowerPoint based off of a small version of the shield on one of the jersey images that were leaked. I then posted it on this board. I tried to get the proportions and colors as correct as I could. Obviously my proportions were a little off, but I think my colors look better.
Anyway, I think it's funny that if you Google "Illinois Victory Shield" or "Illinois Shield" the majority of images that come up are my attempt at getting the shield to the public before the official files were available from Nike or the University. I credit Illinois Loyalty for making my image somewhat viral among Illinois fans. Also, Coach Bellamy posted my version of the shield the other night to announce the Justice Williams commit! :thumb:

i love the all white look but still wish the white helmet was matte finish( that would help modernize the traditional look)
the metallic look of the orange will be great but after seeing the two color all black with orange and all blue with orange from oregon st, oklahoma st and syracuse, i sure wish we would break out the all orange and all blue options.
but i'm not fond of the OSU helmets from last night.

FWIW I hate the white helmets in any combo. We already have 2 good ones.

The white jersey should be more than enough to differentiate. I don't imagine it will be very aesthetically pleasing, however.

I am worried. I think it shows a lack of attention. We have options with the uniforms and we pick the wrong one on the wrong night.

Yes, the white jersey top will distinguish. I thought we were going to wear the all whites for the night game, but given that we already did that for UW, I guess they want to try something different.
Would have been better to go O-W-O for the Wash game, all white for this game but they didn't have the orange helmets at that time.

The uniform combos are chosen more on superstition rather than what is/will be aesthetically pleasing

I haven't said much about this uniform topic, but it bothers me we may not see ANY combination of blue for the 2014 Football season.

I think 1 of 2 things is happening...
1) The rumors are true, we don't have any of the blue uniforms yet.
2) A poster brought this idea up awhile back...maybe they're going with Orange/White to start the season (warm weather, players won't be as hot) and then Orange/Blue to end the season (introduce the blue once it's cold out).
