Cant believe there are no leaks at this point.
Hopefully that means Korn Ferry is earning their keep in this.

Well, the list of candidates would count as a leak.
Tiley was extremely successful in turning the Illinois tennis program around and the Australian open into a premier tennis event.
You shouldn't have to interview Tiley. If George turned the job down, you call Tiley to offer, not to interview.
This is true and I took it as a very bad sign that the University was even conducting interviews. That indicates to me a need to conduct interviews. Ugh.
And if you can get George or Tiley, there is no reason to hire a search firm unless it gives you a third party who can operate behind the scenes a little easier.
Korn Ferry needs to take some of the money we pay them and hire a public relations firm to change their name. :thumb:
Tom Michael just comes off to me as the Tim Doyle of the candidates. He thinks he's the smartest person in the room, but in reality everyone else sees him as an irrelevant Dbag....
but that's just my take on meeting him a few times at basketball games when he worked under RG
If it were reliable and correct.
As someone who doesn't follow tennis, can you elaborate on how Tiley turned the Australian Open into a premier tennis event? Wasn't it always a Grand Slam event? Has it somehow passed Wimbledon, the French or the US Open in stature?
Again, not a tennis guy at all, but I always felt like Wimbledon was the biggest tennis event in the world, and the other three slams probably depend on what part of the world you live in. Or am I way off?
Leaks don't need to be either of those things.

In that case, I'm hearing Ron Guenther for AD!

:clappy:Or just turn the K around.
Check out this article that I found on Tiley. I read it and more than ever I want him as the AD.

Tiley is CEO of Tennis Australia and runs the Australian Open. It was always a premier event in terms of Grand Slam, but he has turned it around in terms of marketing and income it produces. It appears from the article he is branching the Australian brand out into Asia and understands what leadership is and appears to continually look to the future. Again, I really hope we can pull him in as the AD.
Malley: Coming from the US to Tennis Australia, what were your early feelings about tennis in Australia?
Tiley: I was surprised. It’s Australian tennis! Historically it’s the best in the world. I felt this could be fun for three to five years and I’ll learn a lot. Then I got here, every day was a discovery. There were good people but it was just lost. There was no direction, no discipline, no structure. I’m not blaming the people because there were some good people but it lacked leadership.
It comes down to – and this is where you CPA guys are very good – it does come down to leadership. The right people in the right role with the right attitude. So I was given the mandate for change and I used it completely.
My understanding is that a search firm can do their thing in private whereas the UI cannot due to the FIA.

Interesting that Shannon has not changed her story. I would think if he did not interview and people like Cation are tweeting it she would tweet out an update. Maybe he did interview.
I just mean as far as informal conversations. To the extent that public documents would be created, I am sure FOIA would still apply and the process would be open.
