Even if i was a hoosier, I'd be hard pressed to leave being in L.A. once I already had a deal cut with the Ball family.

Not yet. Even if Indiana opens, it's Archie, Marshall, a laughable failed pursuit of Brad Stevens, it's places that aren't going to start the cascade. Unless it's Alford.

UCLA opens and all hell breaks loose.

Yep. Could be nightmarish.

If it comes to that, let's hope UCLA is playing long enough that we're able to make our move in the interim.

Alford will not leave UCLA for Indiana. But I think Marshall and Archie will both be candidates, and I will be surprised if they do not take the job if offered.

He could just be playing UCLA for more money of course - looks like he makes 2m+ right now. For most people leaving UCLA for Indiana wouldn't make sense. For him it might.

I mean, even at this moment, Archie and Marshall are frozen by the Indiana situation.

If Alford becomes the fait accompli there, the whole market shuts down until that figures itself out.

Unless of course we want to take home the girl that's been making eyes at us this whole time.

You're in the real thing now, Josh.

To further exhibit how 2004 I am, my buddy and I have been calling him Julie Cooper-Nichol, of The OC fame.

And to all you current college students who have never heard of that show, I am still young damnit, leave me alone

Yes!! You are even more of the man now Second... the OC is an underrated show of our time.

At first I dismissed this notion, but they *did* have a pretty crap trajectory to their season. Started with a thrilling victory over Kansas -- Kansas! -- and progressed steadily downward, ending with an embarrassment in the NIT.

Not to mention beating North Carolina back in November.

If Alford were to get the IU job, most of his Cali recruits probably wouldn't follow...but you know who almost certainly would? Five-star uber athlete and Indy native Kris Wilkes. Would not enjoy playing them next year.

Do you think that UCLA is a bigger draw for Miller than IU? I don't know. I think given the choice between IU and Illinois, he chooses IU. He probably chooses UCLA over Illinois, but I think it's not quite as simple a choice.

Don't get me wrong, UCLA is a better job than Illinois. But, he'd have to move across the country and he'd be in the same conference as his brother. I don't know enough about their relationship to know how they would view that competition, but it could factor in his decision.

Oh, I disagree.

It's not whether he'll take it, it's whether they'll offer.

Well, we'll disagree, pretty good sources on that. Alford will not leave UCLA for Indiana.

The Indiana search will likely affect our search, I'd imagine we may run into some of the same candidates. But UCLA will not be in the market.

Is Lavar Ball gonna cut Alford in on that billion dollar shoe deal?
