As I don't think the university or Nike really take suggestions, I'm hoping someone at DIA sees this thread and the general consensus on design elements moving forward... Baby steps.

It's a neat idea, but then we'll have the usual fan grousing about why was so-and-so left off.
I thought it was cool when Nike incorporated images from the campus onto various school's jerseys. Foellinger would be up there on the list of iconic visuals of U of I, but yeah, I would put the Alma Mater number one on that list.

Why not put the assembly hall roof at the top, supported by the Memorial Stadium columns, with the morrow plots at the bottom. That would provide the background design. Then you could put the Alma Mater in front of of that image.

While the Morrow Plots are a cool characteristic of our campus, they're not really an endearing visual like Alma, Foellinger, SFC, MS, or even Altgeld. It's a patch of land with corn in it that has had corn in it for generations. Not really something I use to show off campus to anyone I'm trying to impress.

so we've had the current uniforms for 3 seasons now. any chance of new ones for the upcoming season? Doesnt Nike refresh every 3 seasons?
Typically Nike does do a refresh every 3 seasons for teams. I have not heard anything about us getting a refresh. However, if BU gets the team in the tourney next year (which he will), I am sure Nike will want them decked out in their freshest gear. We could definitely use a refresh.
Blue, orange, white flying illini uniforms, and an alternate/grey uniform and call it a day.

I've heard that BU doesn't like the latest rebranding, and wants a new look. But I would guess that this season will be too quick of a turn around to come up with a completely new look. I would bet on Fall 2018, but wouldn't be surprised if Illinois is now in the group of teams that gets new swag for March.
