On the same topic but for a different person.

“Prosecutors said the woman also said, even if she were granted immunity, she would say she has not been truthful to police and the encounter with Jackson Mahomes was consensual.”

Didn't realize this was such a concern to people but here it goes...
TJ is a nickname not a shortening of his initials... The J isn't even a part of his initials... idek what his middle name is.

Lots of people go by AJ, JJ, CJ, etc. and our insiders here constantly call him TJ.

It is literally just a nickname, just like TSJ

Thank you @illini0440 for beating me to it lol
Edward, if his Wikipedia is to believed

Is Junior part of the last name?

The suffix is an explanation of the first name, not the last. "John Doe Jr." means he is John, the son of John. In a full name listing, the suffix follows the last name because the person is primarily known by is given name and surname, the suffix being a secondary piece of information.

This drives me crazy. If you want to shorten his initials, he's TS, not TJ.
You never heard John Jr.? Where I'm from happens all the time.

The unfortunate takeaway here is that even though the woman recanted, prosecutors are considering dismissing only SOME of the charges.

I believe that is correct. And I'm wondering if that was done, at least in part, due to the status of her license being on somewhat shaky ground at the moment 🤷‍♂️
Possible but I think equally as likely is the case itself. Anyone from the prosecutor's office can sign the charging instrument. Every deputy is authorized and can bring the charges. I remember when I was a young deputy, full of piss and vinegar and investigated and wanted to bring charges on a sensitive case. I brought it to the boss who told me if I wanted to file that thing good luck but he was not signing it and his name would not be associated with it. Needless to say, the charges never got filed.

Prosecutors are ultimately politicians. Some are more active/competent than others but they are largely administrators/policy makers. All run on their records, 95+% conviction rates. Of course if you charge someone with murder and they ultimately plead to simple battery, it is still a conviction for statistical purposes. The deputies do the heavy lifting for the most part.

We already knew the alleged incident happened on Saturday Sept 9, not Friday night. That came out of Whitman’s press conference. See Werner’s recap timeline.

I just read an opinion piece from the news gazette writer stating he sees little chance of Shannon playing this year.
Do these local reporters not know what is going on? Asmusson has been a reporter for over 20 years.

This whole charge is a clown show, the charge sheet just proves it more. TSJ status is being used against him and I'm convinced the University will stand up strong for him regardless if he come back to play. I have been around this age demographic and more serious accusations and circumstances happen extremely often when drinking is involved. In the typical "he said, she said" scenario where there is no physical injuries or emergency care rendered these don't go to court. But they are investigated by the institution and discipline is rendered or if necessary referred for criminal investigation.

In this case where TSJ remained in a public location and didn't go back to a private location is important in my opinion. Once again in this scenario, in my experience with this age group (18-24) this would not see the light of day in a court room. TSJ is being leveraged and I'm surprised this wasn't settled earlier not because he is at guilt of an offense but because he put himself in a position to be levered.

The accused has a window for a settlement and I believe the most advantageous settlement will be in the next 10 days. After that the risk of this being dismissed or settlement reduced since season will be over.

I am by no means an insider but the couple people I know close to the program are saying they’re hearing really good things about his chances of playing sooner than later. They’re confident but it’s also very fluid.

Which goes hand and hand with what the actual insiders on this board have been saying.

Drives you crazy? dang lol

Heard Scott Richey say the same on his podcast today. Or maybe that is who wrote the article. But it’s also what others like Jeremy Warner are saying. Really that is still where you’d have to put your money (that he won’t be back) until some of these rumors become more than rumors. Even if all of this is garbage it still takes time to sort out.

With the nature of the charges and the university previously kicking Nunn off the team for a pleading to a misdemeanor. I don’t blame him for thinking that

Plus these legal issues take time and i know we have good insiders but unless you are a member of the 3 person panel it doesn’t matter what we think

It strikes me as lazy reporting. And Asmusson’s didn’t even state “alleged victim” but victim. His article implied a crime did occur and that the prosecution must have solid evidence or they would not have arrested Terrance. It was a self righteous article. At least that is how I felt.

For TSJ to play it will be require charges being dropped and a narrative that this was completely BS. The AD or President will likely have to make a statement that they know TSJ well and from their review of the evidence there is no reason to continue to suspend or uphold his right to continue as a student-athlete. A high bar but I'm convinced that the "adults' in the room are going to the mat for TSJ.

For those in the know... How does that January 18th court date play into things?

Do certain things need to unfold by then to stay on the right track?

Just seems like it would serve as a relevant deadline and not sure how it plays into everything else that's happening.

They are trying to get a deal done as soon as possible. Still some things to work through. Somewhere between late Jan to earl Feb is the most realistic to see how back on the court. Could be sooner or later, but I would say that is the most likely timeline
