Does anyone want to chime in with how long this would take to reach a decision?
When the hearing occurs which is tomorrow or Wednesday. In other words, he could be back for Thursdays game.

He’s not suing anyone…he’s filing a restraining order against he policy that suspended him.I hope this is the case. It just seems odd that Illinois ppl would encourage TSJ to sue them considering it seems Illinois ppl behind the scenes were trying to work with him to find a resolution.
But I don't know anything about the legal process or have any inside information. Hoping for some sort of signals from insiders
Got it. Poor choice of words by me. Like I said, not a legal expert. He’s not suing anyone…he’s filing a restraining order against he policy that suspended him.
Could be brilliant. The tea leaves I am reading suggest that many close to TJ believe that he is either innocent (based on information they’ve been provided), and/or that this has been a railroad job by a disturbed DA looking to make a name for herself. Clearly she has some of her own issues going on….It is very possible (likely?) that people within UI support TSJ taking this route. We can't lose a PR battle if a court is the one deciding to let him play.
100%We live in a country where people are innocent until proven guilty. NONE of us besides insiders maybe, really know what happened, what to the extent that things happened, his guilt or innocence. This isn’t about backing someone who is a r*pist or whatever, it’s literally defending someone’s innocence until it’s proven that he is guilty.
Terrence, the university, Whitman, etc. probably have a very good idea of what actually happened here, they obviously know Terrence’s character and from what the public knows about him, it’s all been extremely positive until a few weeks ago. If Terrence was truly guilty of such a crime, he doesn’t play the first 11 games or at all this year IMO.
Let the kid play, if something comes out or is proven that he indeed commit such a crime, dismiss him. But right now, he has EVERY right to be back on the team.
It’s a move that has the potential to get him back on the court with out it making it look sketchy on the universities part.Got it. Poor choice of words by me. Like I said, not a legal expert.
Was this the expected move here? Or is this a result of something not going well for him?
TRO’s 95% of the time are accepted, with a later hearing ~2 weeks from the initial date where it is seen in front of a judge. My guess is Terrence is reinstated for the time being effective immediately upon the university getting summoned the paperwork. For this restraining order, is the judge simply rubber stamping this or he is looking at evidence to make his decision?

Can he get the court to order Brad to suit him up/start him/play a mandatory number of minutes? What if the school lets him practice but not play in games? Then what? Do we have demonstrators on game day outside of Assembly Hall, some for playing TSJ, some against the idea? What a potential PR nightmare.Even if this worked, wouldn't he still only be allowed to play home games until the case is resolved? AFAIK a condition of his bail is he can't leave town.
Alright, I started the rumor that you were Tyler. You always know way too much (in a good way). You’ve been upgraded for my speculation. Love your interaction with the boards, Brad. It’s a move that has the potential to get him back on the court with out it making it look sketchy on the universities part.
Yes. If the judge rules in Terrence favor it can be extended for the rest of the season and even laterThis hearing 2 weeks later decides on whether the restraining order can continue?
yea , it’s likely his only chance of getting fully reinstated to the team this season .He’s not suing anyone…he’s filing a restraining order against he policy that suspended him.
This doesn’t feel as good as I think we hoped this could get figured out. I will be thrilled to get him back on the court ASAP. But if the charges are still a cloud over his head as he plays out the rest of the season, it will unfortunately be negativity we will have to face every gym we go into moving forward. I feel decently about his innocence, but the masses at large don’t know enough to believe that he might have been wronged in this situation. It’s a move that has the potential to get him back on the court with out it making it look sketchy on the universities part.
Not sure I understand this. If this is in court as opposed to before an ALJ, A TRO has to be accompanied by a complaint. Not sure it’s any different in an administrative hearing but I don’t know. He’s not suing anyone…he’s filing a restraining order against he policy that suspended him.
I feel like this looks really sketchy…It’s a move that has the potential to get him back on the court with out it making it look sketchy on the universities part.
Man, if this goes through.... wow! The University is playing 4-D chess here. It’s a move that has the potential to get him back on the court with out it making it look sketchy on the universities part.
I don’t think the official restrictions on his bail have been shared on this boardEven if this worked, wouldn't he still only be allowed to play home games until the case is resolved? AFAIK a condition of his bail is he can't leave town.
Couldn’t it be ruled that holding him out without a legitimate reason would be in violation of the order if it is granted? You could look at his usage prior and argue the only change is the charge. Could be reading into it wrong though. Don’t think they would sit him if this goes through regardless given all the info that’s been provided. Can he get the court to order Brad to suit him up/start him/play a mandatory number of minutes?
