From the NG article "Fun fact, including Rodgers, Illini coach Brad Underwood offered half of the players that made the team. The rest of the former targets are North Carolina guard Seth Trimble, Villanova guard Mark Armstrong, Oregon center Kel'el Ware, Arkansas guard Anthony Black and Villanova forward Cam Whitmore."

Must say watching a bit of Ecuador-Puerto Rico, the quality of play is not particularly high. But I guess when my frame of reference is Big Ten Basketball and the NBA it's easy to be overly harsh on 17 year old kids from non-major Basketball producing nations...

Probably them, Argentina, or Brazil based on general prior basketball history.

Canada/Argentina/Brazil are pretty much always the toughest competition for the USA in the region. For Canada, Elijah Fisher is a 6'7 wing that is a top 40 prospect going to Texas Tech (2022) and Mikkel Tyne is a Class of 2024 guard who plays for Montverde. Canada is 4th in the world in FIBA's Age Group Ranking and I'm sure a bunch of dudes that will play D1. USA has beaten Canada in the Gold Medal match the last few go-arounds of this event. Argentina is the last team besides the USA to win this tournament (back in 2008). I don't know much about the makeup of their rosters this year but you can usually expect them to be in the mix.
