I watched about 3 minutes. PR needs to learn to stop the ball. That wasn't the only coast to coast dunk.
If Ty isn't getting 25 mins/gm by the B1G season...I'll be surprised. That motor, that versatility....gotta be on the floor.
bump it to 40 mpg
;-)
Ty is going to be a stud, but come on man. They are playing teams that are way below their caliber. Also, we have players better than he is right now.If Ty isn't getting 25 mins/gm by the B1G season...I'll be surprised. That motor, that versatility....gotta be on the floor.
I'll settle for 30 per half............................

Its good to know there are Ty truthers out there. Ayo changed the culture, Ty is going to cement our status as a powerhouse. He has the potential to become the next Illini legend. And I don’t say that lightlyIf Ty isn't getting 25 mins/gm by the B1G season...I'll be surprised. That motor, that versatility....gotta be on the floor.

lol...........just having a little fun bro..............Cardinals getting waxed 11-3 tonight and I'm in a snarky mood.............
Like many of you, I have watched every minute of Ty's play in the FIBA tournament and it is true that he controls the action while he's in there. However, there's a reason that he has maxed out at seven points in three games. Until he hits (or even attempts!) a shot longer than a dunk or a lay-up he is not ready for prime time. Not saying he won't eventually be great, but compared toNick Anderson, lottery pick from the Flyin' Illini? C'mon!!
The one who reminds me of Nick out there is WHITMORE. He's hitting dunks...and threes...and everything between. I wish we could have recruited him. I saw every game Nick played and that's how he played ball...everything down-hill...a savage scorer. a dunker, a jump-shooter and maybe my favorite Illini ever.
We are SO fortunate to have Ty, but let's pump the brakes a little. If he's not scoring against 17 year old's, he has a lot to learn. And who's place is he going to take? Skyy? Shannon? Melindez? Meyer?
Let him grow! He's got tons to work on!
Ty made a flotadora in the lane and could have made more if any of his teammates had been willing to engage in a give and go and pass back to Ty when he flashed open in the paint after a pass. With the Illini he should get some of those passes back for easy scores.Like many of you, I have watched every minute of Ty's play in the FIBA tournament and it is true that he controls the action while he's in there. We did recruit Whitmore. Came close to landing him too.Like many of you, I have watched every minute of Ty's play in the FIBA tournament and it is true that he controls the action while he's in there. We have more than twice the ball handlers that we had last year!!! The only real ball handler that we had last year sat out most of the year. Either your blind as a bat or you really don't know talent when you see it. There is no way in hell teams will be able to pressure us like they have in the past. Sit back and enjoy the ride that these young men are getting ready to take us on!!Not enough ball-handling. I'm guessing one of Skyy or Epps will be on the court close to 100% of the time.
Let me get this straight this young man plays elite defense, dishes out assist like a a point guard, can rebound like a machine, controls the flow of a game and he does not turn the ball over or force up wild shots like you want him to,but he's got tons to work on????? REALLY!!!!Like many of you, I have watched every minute of Ty's play in the FIBA tournament and it is true that he controls the action while he's in there. Now , from all the vids I have seen of Ty Rodgers up until today I think he is exactly what we need for this upcoming season .........He can fill in at various spots on the court and will be on the all Frosh B1G team , maybe even 6th man award.................
