at what point do the crushing losses start to break the team apart? hope we’re not getting there but we will find out against UM
Ben was absolutely playing hard, but he did turn into a bit of a pumpkin with his shooting (he wasn't the only one).I feel bad for Ben and Keaton. They tried to will us to a win.
You are absolutely correct about the lack of creativity, but his guy made the play. However the pick at the 10 second line opened the flood gates for the dribbler. The picker was stationary and did not move into that position. No you're right that was the play. It was just go downhill and take a layup or flop for a foul. I'm saying it wasn't that creative on Cronin's part.
When defending that you've gotta make them go side to side for at least some of the strides. We didn't do that. There's a difference between playing smart and playing tentative and I don't think brad has taught our guys that.

Lose one or two games like this and chalk it up to a learning experience. But when you continue to lose again and again in a similar manner, that is a problem. We are good, but not good enough.Championship teams win these games. There are no banners for Kenpom metrics.
Only one team has ever swept the LA games and that was Michigan last yearOne last thing on the last play because I already called out Z being out of position, but Andrej has to see that screen coming and be on Bilodeau’s right shoulder and square Dent up and move his feet.
Really any sort of resistance at all and he likely runs out of time.
Bummer. The west coast trips are hard. I don’t think anyone has swept the LA trip this year. A bit of a fluky game overall. Hopefully this gets us refocused for the postseason.
Uhhh… no. Lots of people would’ve been very happy to win that game. Winning games is a privilege, and I’m sorry you don’t feel that way. There would be absolutely no gloating after blowing a 23-point lead to a team that's barely in tournament contention.
I think we killed our legitimate shot at a #1 seed with this loss but yes, I still think this is a FF quality team. I have zero concern about how these guys will react. Bad loss, take it out on Michigan.Sure. If you’d like to be disappointed about that inbounds play… I’m all for it. It’s really disappointing.
But those who’d like to act like we don’t have our goals still in front of us are ridiculous.
JMO — I’m not even sure I’m ready to call this game a failure. Again, these were the rebounding stats from this game:

If we rebound with that intensity every game, we’ll win 99% of the time. It’s almost a fact
He never should've been on that half of the court. And that's not on him. Just a complete brain fart on the coaching staff.I’m not sure what Z needed to do there? They were calling fouls left and right. To me it seemed like he was eagerly focused on staying vertical.
The fact that no one stopped the ball is what’s disappointing.
Agreed. That's what stings.Sure. If you’d like to be disappointed about that inbounds play… I’m all for it. It’s really disappointing.

Literally -any- attempt to force him lateral and this is a W.One last thing on the last play because I already called out Z being out of position, but Andrej has to see that screen coming and be on Bilodeau’s right shoulder and square Dent up and move his feet.

What is an "inexcusable loss?"I agree with this take. It was a beautiful first 11 minutes, but after that, it was pretty much awful across the board.
Sure, I’ll give them those, but you don’t make up a 23 point deficit making a bunch of contested 2’s.
You make it up with 7 unguarded wide open 3’s and a bunch of easy layups.
Honestly that doesn’t make me feel any better right nowI think it was Werner who said only 1 team the past two years has swept the Los Angeles trip. Michigan last year.
Michigan State, who went 17-3 last season, lost both games to USC/UCLA.I think it was Werner who said only 1 team the past two years has swept the Los Angeles trip. Michigan last year.
