Oh my god what happened?
I spent 7 years on campus at UI, and Vontae Davis was the single most engaging, popular and charismatic revenue sport athlete I crossed paths with in that time (apologies to BP3). So full of life, this would be heartbreaking.

OH NO, this is so sad!
Iāll never forget him running down the USC running back in the Rose Bowl like he was shot out of a damn cannon. One of my absolute favorites.

I'm on the younger end for this board, and that 2007 Rose Bowl team he was on was the first season I have memories of growing up and it was the season I went to my first Illinois game. Davis was without a doubt my favorite player on that team. He was honestly the reason I started paying attention to the NFL beyond the Bears. I was still too young at that point to know what was going on, but I was watching it and it was because of Vontae. Condolences to his family and friends. RIP
Lates update I've seen regarding Vontae is that foul play is not suspected and the investigation is ongoing.
