As an FYI, ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPN3 are not part of ESPN+ (not sure about ESPNU). You need to have cable for those channels. I believe it is a ploy given to cable/streaming providers to carry the network. Since Spectrum is in a contractual dispute, it is no surprise you were blocked the traditional ESPN stream.
I'm guessing Nebraska fans never thought THAT would happen when they joined the B1G.Shouldn't be too much of a surprise to see Minnesota beat Nebraska at home though. Gophers have now beaten the Huskers 5 straight times and Nebby hasn't won in the Twin Cities since 2015.
Heck, we’ve beaten them 3x in a rowI'm guessing Nebraska fans never thought THAT would happen when they joined the B1G.
Pretty much this. If Altmyer is able to give us at least decent play this year, we should beat both of these teams. 3 team race for the West in my opinion this year- Wisconsin, Iowa, and us.I know it's only week 1, but Sims and the Greek Rifle don't really scare me. We could always lose to anybody if we don't play well, but Minny and Nebraska are absolutely beatable.
On Minny's TD drive, they also kept throwing incompletions, killing the clock with 2-3 minutes left. They tried 3 passes in a row and all 3 were incomplete. That is when the momentum swung in Minny's favor.
From what I saw, it's both. Minnesota's run game was completely non-existent as not only did their RB look like a gigantic drop-off from Ibrahim, but their run protection was awful as well as their new interior linemen struggled. As for Fleck's time management, it was pretty awful with several head-scratching time management decisions that all happened to work out due to Nebraska Nebraskaing themselves.I only watched the end of the game, Minny must have a really lousy running game or Fleck has Zook like game time management? Either is good for us for when we play them and Nebby is 3 points worse. LOLOL
I generally agree with this take. I will say Sims arm was generally fine but his decision making was very flawed. At least two of those picks I knew were going to be clipped before the ball even left his hand. He needs to be more patient or learn to tuck and run. He could be dangerous with a few games under his belt. From what I saw, it's both. And speaking of Nebraska, Sims was very good at running the option and it was very effective against Minnesota the whole game. They never stopped it. The whole game. And every time Nebraska ran it they'd get at least an automatic 4 yds. Meanwhile, when you've let Sims throw the ball, a good 50% of the time it's an unmitigated disaster. So why up by a touchdown with 7minutes left in the game do you decide to almost exclusively rely on your noodle armed quarterback instead of sticking with what has worked all game long? Just blows my mind.
Eh, what is there to do anywhere? Go out to eat? I'll give them credit; they're just good fans. I hope one day our fan base is half that devoted! I want to see Memorial Stadium sold out every week. What surprises me the most is that Nebraska still sells out week after week, even when their team has been historically bad the last few years. I think they are at 389 consecutive games.
I guess there is nothing better to do in Nebraska...
It's their tradition from the Tom Osborne era they still remember those golden years from the big 8 days, and they want revel in those feelings again. What surprises me the most is that Nebraska still sells out week after week, even when their team has been historically bad the last few years. True, but they still fill the stands well. Look at their last home game last year. If we had their record and anxitey over coach, we would have maybe 5-10,000 people in the stands. They filled the seats to at least 90% capacity. True dedication! They only sell out because fans purposely buy up leftover tickets to reach sell out status
