Butler with bad strategy to foul when they still have two 1 ands left and they had justmissed one

And Creighton TO. Isn't that a flagrant, hit to face

Illustrates why I hate the fouling with the lead strategy, though.
Creighton had three chances to win in the final 11.8 seconds and botched each one of them. The strategy to foul at 11.8 seconds and 8 seconds and 4 seconds nearly cost the Bulldogs. With 11.8 seconds left and a three point lead, the opposing team should never get a final shot to win… let alone three.

I’ve said this before, but my sister played soccer at Butler and I’ve had the absolute privilege of seeing a few games at Hinkel, so I always cheer for Butler. So, thanks Bulldogs! We’ll at least pass Creighton if we win Sunday, lol.
I went to the Villanova game there in the 16-17 season. It was actually the third #1 upset game that I've been to. 05 Wake Forest, 13 Indiana, and this one. For under 10K, that is an insanely loud arena. You could hardly hear what anyone next to you said. I'll also be at the Purdue game 🤞

Illini need to move beyond Sweet 16, so I’m not ok with either tbh. I could care less about BT titles. The only thing that matters is to win the whole dang thing!

No Ohio State/Iowa chatter? What, do you people have lives or something? This is a good game at halftime.
I was actually at this game-just got back to Des Moines after going to the game with my Iowa student son (please don’t judge-in-state tuition and a bunch of his buddies going to Iowa City is an admittedly strong pull) and taking him to dinner. Pretty much what you’d expect with these two teams. Close, not boring, but not good basketball-particularly on defense. But by the end of the game, you knew both teams were feeling a lot of pressure to get a win.

Side note-not sure if Holtman’s white sneakers with blue business suit or Fran’s hooded sweatshirt was the less inspiring coach look at Carver-Hawkeye tonight.

That sweatshirt the entire Iowa staff was wearing looked especially . . . . <insert non offending adjective here >

I’m going to the Indiana State vs Drake game tonight. A Sycamores win gives them a 2 game lead in the MVC. It’s an organic sellout which is rare for the Trees. People begging for tixs and some of the brokers we’re charging 8x face value before the sellout. Should be a loud hostile environment for the Bulldogs.

I HATE the "foul when you're up" strategy. Just hate it. Iowa did it as well at the end of the OSU game, and it led to the Buckeyes getting a shot and a half-decent rebound opportunity to tie it up.

All it really shows is, "We don't trust our defense enough to guard anyone" - which to be completely fair, pretty much sums up Iowa.
Basketball coaching has completely lost the plot clothing-wise as a profession.
I'm not totally sure what to think about this. I get it - sweating through a suit and having a necktie constrict your bulging neck veins when yelling can't be comfortable. I'm sure Nike, etc. love their coaches wearing branded apparel and shoes for their close-ups. But some of the casual looks are becoming WAY too casual. I love Matt Painter, but he looks like a slob on the sidelines now. Admittedly, I wear my share of half-zips and casual pants to the office myself, so I can't really blame the coaches who want to go down this route. I will say that, in my opinion, the OSU assistant coaches had a good look with black half-zips and black shoes/white soles. It could be as simple as not wearing white running/basketball shoes.

Maybe the Dan Hurley and Hubert Davis look (sport coat, open collar shirt, and dressier shoes) is the good middle ground.
