Week of 1/29 Games Thread

So 8 top-25 teams lost today.
I was thinking they were in “our” spot since we’ve been there a couple of times
I think we go up to 11 with a win. This week 10 Kentucky lost twice, 12 Iowa State lost and 13 Creighton lost, we should pass all of them with a win.
I doubt they drop 7 Duke for a loss at 3 UNC.
We need 11 Arizona to lose at home tomorrow to Stanford or 6 Wisconsin to lose their second game in row for us to move to 10.
They won’t drop 3 UNC for a loss to GT after beating Duke. They also won’t drop 5 Tenn far enough after losing to South Carolina and then beating 10 Kentucky.

Yep our best chance for a #10 ranking is a Wisconsin loss tmrw.
That is a bad luck ranking this year. Some other team can have 10, as I'd be happy with 9 or 11
They most certainly will. It won't be by much, possibly 5 or 6, but there's no way they stay at 3. I could see Tennessee staying put or moving up though, since South Carolina is a MUCH better team than GT.
I guess I should’ve specified they won’t drop in the rankings in a way that is meaningful to us. I agree they’ll drop but not to a point where we’ll pass them which I didn’t specify
Did anyone see the end of the Gonzaga/Saint Mary’s game? What a mess.
During regular season my default is to root for the road team. If they win, then you get to see the fan base upset and that is satisfying.
Seems like Gonzaga has gotten a decade of homer calls, so I enjoy seeing them get jobbed a bit for once.

So we are the gimmick game this year for PSU. Great. Guess they wanted this one bad enough that they didn’t want to play us in front of the usual 7,000 at Bryce Jordan.

They'll come up with a narrative around the heart condition that caused him to miss games to make it plausible he's stepping away for that instead of sucking as a head coach.
(Since it's not appropriate to joke about legitimate heart conditions, I'll refrain from any additional commentary on this issue.)

They've finally figured out that they can compact the regular Bryce Jordan crowd in Rec Hall, fill it to the gills, and have a superior home court atmosphere. That they do it only once a year puzzles me. If that were still their home court arena it would be the equal of the RAC.
If we still want the B1G chance, gotta pull for Wisconsin today.
When in doubt, always pull for the home team.
