He wasn't projected to be a disaster, just decent. And yes, we certainly needed a PG, it's just that the advanced stats didn't suggest warranting the hype he was getting. He'll be a fine P5 player, but the transition likely won't be as easy on him as most think.
Agree on RayJ. Sample size of one game but looks like he’s got enough in his bag to score, but I think he will tend to get cooked on defense. Maybe it’s sour grapes but I don’t feel like he’s the missing piece for us like I’ve felt on some other guys we’ve missed out on. I think I like Domask better.

Auburn and Baylor both looked really good and athletic. First teams I’ve watched so far where I wonder if we can match up with them. We’ve got some work to do but I think we can. Auburn’s frosh PG is a stud. I think we will miss Sencire to slow down kids like that. Will see how much we struggle to contain Kolek on Tuesday, but if we do I wonder if Brad will push Sencire to reconsider his decision. Smaller, quicker PGs are about the only type of player I’m not sure we can guard.

Marquette’s guards are quick and can shoot. Think this will be an interesting matchup for us. We are stronger inside but we will get killed from three if we aren’t guarding the line and they will put pressure on our ball handling. Going to miss Buck in this one.

RayJ Dennis with an impressive stat line this morning.

16 pts, 3 reb, 8 asst, 6 steals, 4 tos in an early morning 96-70 victory over some guy named John Brown.

It'll be really interesting as several of our players have struggled with keeping up with quick guards in the limited gameplay they've had thus far. I'll be keying in on Ty, Harmon, and Luke especially. Going under screens, losing guys off the ball, and bad first steps will all be trouble for us so hoping we can clean that all up by this game. And I do agree that games like these where you really need someone to smother and pressure their guards, not having Sencire, who seems to be our best player in that regard is definitely a loss.

I've never seen a team blow a 5 point lead with only 3.8 s left before
Then JMU blows a 3 point lead with 12s left and the ball to send it to a second OT. Stepped out of bounds.
Very entertaining, hope we don't play either of these two teams anytime soon, they both look good

foby

Bonnaroo Land
So James Madison could be this year's FAU and be ranked for most of the season as they win game after game. They just finished what should be their toughest part of the season.

JMU "hardest" games remaining are probably SIU and ODU. If they finish 30-2, losing a couple on bad nights, where do you seed them?
