White Sox 2015 Thread

Time to turn my attention to baseball.

Spring training is heating up. Small sample size/spring training aside, Micah has been productive at 2B. Hopefully he'll force Robin's hand.

Also, Will Ferrell struck out finishing his White Sox career without putting a ball in play. But, he did contribute to the team by calling for an intentional walk while serving as catcher for the Giants.

Pretty evident based on ABs that Micah is getting the bulk of the work at 2B...and producing, as you said, IO. Bonofacio so far with the big collar, but he may be hitting them where they are...'stead of where they ain't. If Johnson's production continues, looks like a no brainer for Robin...

I like Bonifacio, but more as a poor mans Zobrist that'll play 100 games, just not more than 50 at any position. I'd rather have the quality 10th position player with versatility (I don't think there is much separation between any of the 2B's currently in what would be produced over an entire year).

24. Close enough. Point is he's been in the minors since 2012. It's now or never.

Definitely agree that if he can't win this competition, it probably says more to what he isn't as a player. Without being an elite prospect, one of the easiest position battles to win in baseball this spring.

Carlos Rodon > Kris Bryant

:D

Really though. Kid was dominant today. Sale-esque sliders.

I'm really excited about Rodon for obvious reasons.

Next year could be a big year for the Sox. The rotation with Sale and Rodon should be outstanding. It's up to Hahn to find a way to give that staff a reasonable offense.

Opening Day!

I've talked myself into believing this year. The AL seems to be lacking, and if Smardzija can consistently pitch well, we'll have a staff that can carry us.

4:10 this aft for me!! Sox need to put some runs on the board early before they get into the Royal's pen. Looking for a good outing from Smardzija, gonna be fun!!:thumb::thumb:

Biggest overreaction day in all of sports today. Gotta stay the course.

That said, it was an absolute horror show yesterday listening to at work.

Everything that could go right, did go right for the Royals, and vice versa for the Sox.

Something to keep an eye on throughout the season between these 2 teams. Samardzija plunking Cain after Moustakas fist pumping and screaming after he hit a HR on OD in the 5th inning.

By his reaction, you would of thought he hit a game winning HR in the playoffs.

Like Joe Maddon says, "Act like you've done this before..."

Just looking at yesterday as 1 game in a long season. Nice to see Jose jack one, nice to see Micah get his first hit (we won't talk about the pick-off...), so, like I said...on to game 2!!

Glad I didn't get 670 on the road for this one. Yikes. I'm thinking the Drabek experiment might not work out.

Classic coop move trying to bring back a pitcher from the dead...

The more I look at the roster the more I feel like it's gonna come down to Danks and #5 (Noesi or maybe Rodon eventually) throwing quality starts. This absolutely frightens me.

Well that opening series sweep was a great way to temper any increased fan enthusiasm after a great offseason

Robin is trying to do too much. You've got a completely new team and he's fielded a completely different team in each of the 3 games. Less tinkering please

Also, the Royals are good.

I'm surprised so many people don't have them making the playoffs this year.

Sox look lethargic in every aspect of the game right now.

Agreed. While Milone pitched a very good game yesterday, he was also (IMO) very hitable, the guys just had to make some timing adjustments and the hits and runs would start coming...but they never did.

Even Avi's rightfield putout looked kinda "lethargic". When they called the guy out at second, I was like, "Well how'd he do that?"

I'd say Chris better buy a couple pen guys, Avi, Alexi, and Gordon dinner tonight! Last year that 3-1 lead just wouldn't have held up, and he'd be stuck with another ND.

Great game Chris Sale!!:thumb:
