Not suprised, Brit has all the heart, just not enough speed. Hopefully someone else will give him a chance.

He'd be terrific on special teams; would make one heck of a practice player. I think if somebody gave him a chance, they'd discover he's a "gamer". Hope he gets a shot somewhere.

Was it Brit who was trying to convert to fullback? Not his natural position at all. Even if he were going in as a prospective LB I just don't think he has the speed for the NFL. He was a great college player, though. I do still hope he succeeds somewhere, whether it be in the NFL or wherever.

Wasn't J Leman with the Panthers also? Is he still there, or has he been released already?

What's all this talk about speed? It was reported on this very website that he ran a 4.5 on pro day, which is good/excellent speed for an inside linebacker. He has good weight, but I bet the real knock on him is height/inexperience (he was only an inside backer for a year, afterall). He's listed at 6', but standing next to him, I'd say he's maybe 5'11" in shoes (maybe).
Regardless, I hope he comes to a 3-4 team, like the Jets, who definitely need special teams/backup linebackers like Brit. __________________ ![]() |

At least Brit probably has a drivers license and knows how to work, so if he has to, he can support someone rather than be supported by everyone else.

They talked to him about it on the WAND news tonight.
I haven't been able to find a link on the internet tubes yet. |

I think he has good enough size and speed to play fullback. Mike Singletary likes players like Brit, hopefully he gets a chance to play. With Singletary being the coach, you know damn well there will be a fullback. Singletary played and coaches the game the right way.

Brit Miller just signed with the 49ers to compete at fullback. Good news there, hopefully Brit can work hard and make that transition.

Before everyone gets all surprised and acts gives opinions on whether or not he can play fullback.....in HS in Decatur, he was the quarterback and fullback, mostly just the running quarterback, but also played some fullback...so it is a position he knows how to play and is not some huge experiment

This is the same route of Canton native Boomer Grigsby who played for ISU. A college middle linebacker, who start out as such with the KC Chiefs. Then converted after year two to fullback and special teams. The coaches told him it was easier to stay locked in with the NFL at that position and to play alot of special teams. Don't understand why, but it sounds like the path that they are both taking. Boomer was cut last year by Miami after the first game and sat out the whole season. Now he is with the Houston Texans on a two year contract. This may be the best thing for Brit to show his stuff, I am sure he will play special teams, also. I wish the best for all these local Illinois players.

I would love to see Brit playing fullback. My favorite recent fullback has to be former Seatlle FB Mack Strong. That guy was awesome and I could see Brit being that type of player.

My favorite fullback of all time was Matt Suhey for the Bears back in the Super Bowl days. He was a very good hard nosed player, who was a great blocker (lead blocker for Sweetness!), ran it some, and was also well-utilized as a pass catcher.
