I posted earlier about the kid from Jacksonville Illinois. 6'5' junior. He already weighs 250. He plays both ways. He is a great defensive lineman, also kicks the extra points and field goals, and holds the school record already for receptions as a receiver on offense with another entire year to go. His name is Dalton Keene. I talked to his mom today at a local restaurant for Thanksgiving day, and asked what the chances were for him becoming an Illini. She told me that he already has letters from 25 schools, but so far Illinois has not offered. They were very puzzled as to why. They are both big Illini fans and have a very athletic family including a daughter that is 6'2" and a great volleyball player as well as a basketball player. Dalton was voted the best junior linebacker in the country at the start of the year by a national sports magazine. I can't imagine why Illinois has shown no interest. Maybe someone can put a bug in the coaches ear( whoever that is going to be)? I hate to see him get overlooked by the Illini as much as we need help in some areas.

we need a Leshore or Mendenhall type running back, and a kick off return man that can take it all the way back, or at least get past the 20 now and then.

Ignoring the off topic personal attack, it is silly to think our list of recruiting targets won't change when Zook is fired. If some coordinators/assistants are retained that will help in getting current targets on campus. But our new coach will have different connections and inroads, so we will also see new guys added to the mix that previously weren't considering Illinois. A new coach might also have scheme needs that change the mix of recruits we target. Change isn't all bad.

So they got Ayoola...I still want Garmon but this is exactly what they needed (An impact type of RB). Offers from Auburn, ND, etc. but he picks the Illini. Hopefully he brings Jelani Hamilton and others with him.

Never hurts to be getting guys from STA either. Do you think we'll still try to grab 1 more running back for this class? With 2 leaving, it would make sense to add 2 more.

In an article on Rivals, Ayoola said that Keith Brown's decision to switch from Miami to Illinois was an eye-opener and convinced him that Illinois was the right choice for him too.
Welcome to the Orange and Blue Dami!!

We need to start recruiting both the Offensive and Defensive lines. I can't wait to see both Browns at linebacker next year.

He HAS won. He is now in position to take it to another level as he keeps gaining these types of players. Also somebody mentioned it, but the Keith Brown effect has already started. I can't wait to see who else they get/get in on.

They're in on those guys trust me. Several impressive OL and DL have recently set up visits with more on the way. They need Diamond, etc. and I'm really hoping now that they can flip Jelani Hamilton, etc.

Anyone else notice that Cody Quinn is labeled as a soft commit and is taking a visit to West Virgina?
