Outside of his dad playing there, what is the draw to Florida St.? Their last few recruiting classes weren't great and football will always be king there.

Just seems strange for him to knock his list down to 2 already..

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy we're on it.
He has to take his ACT before he can take his visits.

Probably wont take officials. He announces Oct. 13, and will take ACT Oct. 8. He's unnoficially visited FSU and UCONN so far

If he has already scheduled a decision date and hasn't taken an unofficial here, that doesn't sound promising to me.. Based on that, it seems like we have some serious ground to make up before Oct 13th if we want to have a shot at him.

Sorry but I guess I'm still in the chicken little mindset based on the past few years we've had as a program.

If the pitch is to be a part of a class with Nunn and Jackson, he doesn't need to set foot on campus for that to be a reality by 10/13.

That's true but I would think he would at least want to see the place in person before committing here. No?

Not necessarily, I committed prior to visiting. Urbana-Champaign was just too far to make a personal visit...

The importance of that varies from kid to kid.

I feel that if the concern is over his ND visit wowing him to to a verbal, it would probably happen while he is there. While we would be disappointed that he has not chosen us, at least our staff's attention can be focused elsewhere.

If D Jack "escapes" the ND official visit without committing yet, then based on what our posters with inside info have been saying, it sounds like our Illini would have the inside track.

I suppose I only thought this because I visited twice before committing. Unofficial visits of course.

Come to think of it, I should have unofficially visited on unofficial. Would have been a fun visit.

Great get with mr nunn....there is no substitute for a Chicago kid, no less from Simeon, to realize the importance of legacy...not sure if we get dj and xrm but even if we don't Nunn is an aggressive scorer and defender who will blossom in Groces system

Kudos to our staff

wasn't really sure where to post this, but, what are the things that Groce & staff have to be careful of NCAA violations wise being that Melvin Nunn helps coach the Meanstreets U15 AAU team. does it not matter how much Groce and him talk since Nunn will be a player or does it not matter?

Dayshon Smith is still being recruited to the UofI also.

IF we get Jackson for 2013, then Ulis would become a better option for 2014.

http://home.roadrunner.com/~rsci/RSC...ummer_2013.htm
51. Nunn
66. Hill

Others UI has been linked with:
1. Parker

For those unfamiliar, the RSCI rankings are a composite set of rankings, taking into account the rankings of several recruiting services

Count Connecticut native Dayshon Smith as another 2013 PG Groce and Co. are in on. 3* prospect is planning to visit C-U in October.

I hope we're not trying to turn guys into PGs as we've seen how that works out....
I don't thin XRM is a pure PG, but he is a much more ready ballhandler than the 2009 guys.

When Kendrick walked in just in front of us before kickoff with coach Groce I hollered to coach Groce, " are we going to put a statue in front of the Assembly Hall like Red Grange" his reply, " I Like It " !!!!
