I wonder if it is not Finke grabbing a spot while he can! I doubt any recruit loves the Illini more! just a logical guess.

The Finke offer may be more conditional at this point.

well, i've not heard it put so simply. but it's pretty obvious that we're not going to take commitments from Finke and O'Mara tomorrow if they both want to accept.

I'm guessing that every recruit is told that the offer changes once other recruits make decisions. It's pretty obvious that another big in '14 is behind another PG and KBD in terms of priorities. That's how the Colbert commitment changed that.

I really hope this news is about KBD and that we land him as soon as possible. This would give us maximum time to go after a top pg and even go all out on a player like CA.

That said, if KBD does, indeed, pull the trigger, the urgency for the remaining '14 rides ratchets up, big time. IMO, signs are pointing to a 3 player '14 class.

John Groce and his staff and company got a late start on the class of 2013 but have done a great job. A product of Chicago's public league, Nunn was a major score and he and Hill should be a nice wing combo. Colbert is a fluid big man who can run the floor while Morgan has the size and skill to play at the four or the five. Tate is another Chicago product and a steady hand at the point.

can't see the staff would take Finke without knowing definitively where we stand with KBD.

If KBD is in, then I'd think a PG would be the priority. If CA wants in then obviously you take him.

Oversigning by 2 would an interesting situation.
