Hey JP, What does your flag mean? (the avatar)..and were you at the game? Because I saw a guy at the game wearing a shirt with that flag on it.

Well, from what I've seen/heard the Ragin' Cajuns are better than EIU, and if we play the way we did today we might be in trouble, bring our A game, and our defense doesn't blow, we should win easily.

It will work again.

And Peter, I believe JP's avatar is the City of Chicago flag.

Not to digress, but did anyone else at the game today notice that "September" was spelled wrong whenever they kept showing next week's game? It said "Septemer 13" and "Rajun Cajuns."

Is spellcheck too much to ask at Memorial Stadium?

The massive turnovers were a fluke this week. Our second string defense will give up some points in the second half.

Louisiana-Lafayette is 0-1 with a lopsided loss to So. Miss. 51-21 on the road. The only point of concern is that their offense had 394 yards. Hopefully the Illinois defense will step up finally.

Wasn't at the EIU game but I'll be there for the UL-L game (as well as the Ohio State and Northwestern)

These guys were 3-9 last year, but did put some points up on occasion. This should be our highest scoring game of the season. Hopefully, they won't be affected by Hurricane Ike.

I hope Cumberland can get some reps Saturday to get some game action before Penn St. Haven't heard anything yet.

I would like to see some more progression in this game, more DT intensity, lbs flying around, and better safety play. Our O will hopefully show up balanced.

Do you think we might focus on the ground game this weekend?

Quote:
Blocking for those [Illinois] skill players is a veteran offensive line. All that added together could make life difficult for a Cajun defense that allowed 633 yards - including 427 on the ground - in a 51-21 loss at Southern Miss in Week 1.

IF Southern Miss ran 427 on them, we can run 800.

There was a link to a chat in the defensive line strategy thread. The chat said that Cumberland will be back for the PSU game but that's it.

DE steps up in this one (I hope)

I would think at some point our defense will start clamping down. I hope they don't wait until PSU.

Our offense, even the 2nd stringers, will score on just about every possession.

ILL - 59

Juice hearing Heisman talk:

The Illini junior ranks sixth nationally in total offense (379.5 ypg). Statistically speaking, he's the nation's best dual-threat quarterback. His teammates are taking notice, even if the rest of the country isn't -- yet.
