Finally watched Gavin Cupp's film. He is a bad man with a bad disposition/attitude. just filthy. VV aggressive, physical, loves finishing opponents-pancakes. Just what you want from an o-lineman. Very nice knee bend, hands, hip thrust and feet. He has very nice tech for a hs kid and it will need improvement at the college level but he shows he know how to pick it up. Very nice weight distribution. Ex-vvg drive block displaying power/ vvg get off or burst. Ex-vvg st, power/ vvg sp,qu, burst.
4* 5.85. Yes I loved this guys tape because of the extra quality he can bring and help instill in others. He has connections to the school. He is now the numbre one get for the o-line. Land him Cerny and Wilmore and or Anchrum and it would mean two outstanding years in row for the o-line to Illinois,.:thumb::eek::chief:

Mr. Robinson shows a Miami (FL) offer on his yahoo profile. Cali any thoughts on him as an OL prospect?

Staff excited about this one. Hoping two more ready to pop in the next few days.

Gotta think of 2 of these 4:

LB Tim Walton (on campus tomorrow)
DL/OL Josh Mueller
OL Jake Cerny (deciding a little further out than a few days)
WR Harry Ballard III (deciding closer to beginning of his FB season)

Of Course Alton could pop if he somehow gets cleared by admissions

I was actually convinced for a while that you only gave out 3* ratings. :D:illinois:

You made laugh then count out of the 167 tapes I have watched so far 28 offensive and 16 on defensive 4*. Of which 3 we still have a shot with. Rt GCupp, Wr R Bryant and Cb B Frankin.:eek:
Oh also 5, 2* one of which is a commit. The coaches have a hell of a lot of borderline 2* but don't sink that low most the time.

This is one of the borderline 2* guys. He his Jersey tuff and dang nasty as well and at guard he could develop into something. Put he needs a ton of work to get there. I would have waited until the season started before offering even watch senior tape first 3 -4 games. Now it is up to him does he want it bad. He got 1 3* 5.5 from me as a guard.

With Simms and now Robinson likely to play guard I wonder if the coaching staff still sees Kurt Gavin as a guard. He seems to have the agility needed for pass protection that the other two lack.

From what I've heard, the staff feels good about their chances with Cupp, but that OSU offer definitely throws a wrench into the works.

To me it just means if he commits to OSU he'll be a 4*, if he commits to Illinois, he's destined for a life as a 3*

They are planning on taking 6 lineman correct? Cupp, Cerny and Moeller would be a OL class for sure

Gavin is tall. I know his mother, and she is every bit of 6 ft.

I think Gavin ends up a tackle

Robinson does not look like a "2 star" on tape to me. However, I am no expert. Really excited about his commitment.

What are you saying? You evaluated the wrong tape or?

NO Bomb Squad I am saying I was far from impressed with Spears tape. He seemed indecisive or slow to react to taking off to make a tackle. Average speed required for the star position then slow to see the lane and go for the tackle.. The closer to the line the better for him less field to evaluate as to what to do. Now that good change over this season if his progression's and confidence as to when and where to go improve. He lacks instincts and is a vv physical grind it out type player to me based on the tape. 2* 5.45:tsk:

I liked Rugumba a lot to me he was a near 4* guy. But there are still some nice gets out there.
