I thought I read somewhere that Lucas' team was going to be playing against Simeon some time this month, but I don't see the game listed on either team's schedules. Does anyone know if this game is being played, and, if so, where and when?

The multiple bounce passes displayed were just as nice if not more than the 3 pointers made!

Agreed. He had some really nice one handed bounce passes for easy buckets. I was also impressed with the range on his 3's. One or two of those were just inside the NBA line.

TJL put up 32 points tonight. He is having a pretty solid season.

Any thoughts on where TJL will end up in the final rankings? Does he have a shot at Top 100?

Where do people think Rako will end up after his senior season?

I imagine he will end up in the top 150, probably somewhere between 100-150. He is a 3-star on most of the sites right now, and a 4-star on scout. He is on the upswing, but also by this point there usually isn't that much movement in the rankings because a lot of the analysts are more focused on uncommitted guys. Regardless of where he ends up, he seems to be a pretty solid player at a major position of need.

No idea about Rako.

If he keeps up putting big numbers he will end up in the 75-100 range IMO, especially if he pushes for Player of Year honors in Illinois. The fact that he is a big (height), will help him in the rankings, provides more differentiation than wings.

75-100 would be pretty reasonable for Rako if he keep things up. I wonder if we might see Rako take a few OV in the next month or so. That might provide a bit more clarity about where his recruitment stands.

TJL is a McD's AA nominee, but isn't everybody including Ronald.:)

TJL launches his 3's from too low so I'm sure we'll work with him on a higher release point. Impressed by his vision to find the open man and deliver. Looking forward to having him on the Illini.

Miketherelevator, thanks so much for the information. Looking forward to watching Lucas play against Simeon on the 30th.

I thought the same thing about his shot. I liked that he got them to go in though. It is a highlight video but I do like what I see.

Also playing at Champaign Centennial on February 6.

According to this, it's Champaign Central and it's in Milwaukee, although I know just because it says this online doesn't make it so. This would be a much more desirable game to watch what with Tim Finke also on the court, although harder to get to. I'll have to check the Cube listings in the upcoming weeks.

Then again, this page says it's at Central so they're obviously just trying to confuse us.

My guess would be that he'll keep visits out sight, out of mind until after the season. The "put your head down and go to work" approach is really paying off for him and I don't see them changing that approach.

“Rakocevic says he is in no rush, that his focus right now is on his senior season, and that he doesn’t plan to make a decision until March or April. Coach Ping and I have decided that the best thing is to go out and play this season, and the recruiting will take care of itself,” Rakocevic said."

I'm surprised there isn't more talk about Harry Froling visiting this weekend. Borderline top 100 player who plays the position we most desperately need and we are in his final four. Maybe I missed something, but I'm just surprised that everyone is talking about Rakocevic instead of Froling this week.

Maybe it's because both of his sisters go to SMU.

Maybe it's because Illinois fans feel like we have a better shot with Rakocevic.

Maybe it's because Illinois hasn't scored with international players yet like everyone thought Dustin Ford would by now.

Or.. Maybe it's just because he has better options?

I havent really kept up with how Frolling has been playing. Has he been good? I recall being very underwhelmed with his highlight tapes. Is he better than Rako?

The guy has family at SMU and with our negativity on the board, I think they have given up unfortunately.

Probably because of the unknown. One clip of him out there, and not many traveling to Australia to watch. I know scout has him as a 4 star but based on video available its hard to tell. I wouldn't mind getting him at all. I just dont know really what we would be getting other than a big body, which we need.
