I did an analysis of this season based on the fightingillini.com play-by-play data. Some of my findings are below. Any other suggestions for different aspects to analyze?

I thought it was interesting that even in losses we stay pretty tight for the first 14-15 minutes before falling apart. Also, even in wins we have a 4-5 minute stretch near the start of the 2nd half where we suck.
This is a plot showing the distribution of our contributions in contested games. I counted a "positive play" as a made basket, steal, rebound, assist, or block. Not normalized for playing time.

And here I've done an analysis of what our best and worst lineups are. The play-by-play data can be kind of spotty keeping track of substitutions so these are pretty good but not 100% perfect. Also consider some of the sample sizes are small, so for FG% I considered a minimum of 10 shots made or missed and for 3p-fg% I considered a minimum of 5 shots made or missed.
