As someone who is not in the know like most of you, how many guys can we take in this class? How many of the current recruits are early enrollees in January?

What does this class need? One more each of RB, WR, OL, DL, LB?

21 commits currently.. Max signing is 28.. but of that, only 25 can actually enroll as part of the 2016 class.. Think they can defer Hayes and Peters to 2015, but I'm not 100% sure how full they were in 15.

Didn't they defer some of the 2015 class to 2014

Is there a chance we might offer the Swenson kid (who is from Chicago) who had his offer from UM pulled? Here is his current list, as reported by him.

Central Florida, Hawaii, Iowa State, East Carolina, Kansas and Toledo.

That's a list you think the home state school could compete with.

From what people are saying, he has no interest in Illinois.

Some names I've seen as visiting this weekend. A lot of players from the south these days.

1/29/16
Dele Harding LB
Jahmir Johnson OL
David Montgomery RB
Mj McGriff WR
D'Ante Smith OL—committed to ECU 1/22 so I doubt his visit is still on
TaDarryl Marshall ATH
Tristan Cooper ATH—committed to ARIZ on 1/22 so doubt he’s coming
Harvey Clayton S

A couple of new names visiting this weekend.
Eddy Fish OL
Thomas Geddis WR

This is the number one tackle on my board if we can get him interested. The kid is just filthy and while he needs work on technique, especially pass pro you'll love his drive blocking.;)

This is a conspiracy against the State of Illinois. It has to be. No one can be this stupid after everything else that has happened.

Fail fast and move on?! Might as well have pictures of Lou Tepper, Ron Turner, Ron Zook and Tim Beckman on there. Fail fast and move on slow they could call it.:hurl:

From the looks of his Twitter page, it's a part of a larger group of motivational posters associated with the "Illini Spirit" all leading up to NSD. Seems like a boneheaded post all by itself, but with the others it's not AS bad.

Failing fast and moving on is a great ideology for within a game...but in the context of recruiting it sounds stupid. It should not be used as a sales pitch, nor should it be used to refer to NSD.

The idea is that if you are going to make a mistake/fail in a game, do it at 100% speed. Don't fail going through the motions, fail FAST. And then forget about it and move on to the next play. It's actually a great ideology, one I always lived by in my playing days, but... wtf were they thinking using it in this context?

I'm sure that most of the recruits who would see this poster would understand it in the context you've indicated above, as they've likely heard it from a coach at some point...
