Ohio State 68, Illinois 63 (OT) POSTGAME

I love how they have to add "Matta, the Illinois native" in the post game interview. Didn't Geunther pass on him at one point?

Guenther wouldn't even interview him.... he had his safe, cheap hire already picked out

can we get a picture of MH getting a shoulder to the upper body as TV holds his arms out

Nice no call by tv teddy when hill almost got decleated by bates diop. I guess it makes sense for teddy when he's reffing an Illini game

I didn't watch the comeback at the end but it seemed JCL was hot (the announcers said so). If that's true, then I'm really shocked we didn't get him the ball more at the end or in OT. MH seemed very selfish all of a sudden. Oh well...

FT's were key. But I have been supportive of Groce this year. Coaching was a huge problem tonight. Groce not BIG quality...
I 100% disagree with this. Poor shooting, both from the field and the charity stripe lost us this game.

Has anyone noticed the last handful of games, Malcolms' shot looks so weird coming off his hands. It's almost like he's shooting with one hand, shot put style

Seth Davis said on air that Groce has unfairly caught heat from the fan base. And Davis is pro-Illinois. Has said in the past that they are a premier job. This is a guy who covers the game for a living so I'll trust his opinion over the impulsive pissy and whiny portion of the fan base.

I dont get why everyone is ripping Hill for the last play, did anybody watch? he got drilled.

True, but why would he take a step back 3 when his shot has been off all night? You are in the double bonus, drive to the hoop

The problem I have with the complaining for a foul is that Hill is built like a man compared to Diop. If he would have been strong with the ball he wouldn't have turned it over.

I think the team forgets that there doesn't have to be one leader. Malcolm is not the leader of this team, it's everyone. The only bright spot of this game was JCL. He was unreal this game, even his defense was great. Sad when a freshman plays better than a star player who has been ther before

Not comparing... but Larry Bird wasn't too athletic

True but if you are not athletic you better be 7 ft tall or one hell of a shooter. Malcolm is neither. He is a crafty player but he lacks the speed, size or shooting range to make it at the next level. Games like these when he is guarded by NBA type athletes really highlight the problem. He gets the most out of what he has he just won't have enough for the next level. Let's just enjoy him as a college player.

:congrats:

the majority of that portion was either too young to remember pre-2005, or still swings from Self's nutsack

My fault I was talking about the last play of overtime, not the shot. Your right he should have tried to do something more than that there.

This wasn't Teddy losing the game for us. C'mon. Why was Malcolm taking the last shot? Poor execution and shooting. If we make free throws we win and no one mentions Teddy.

True, but it was a foul whether he was built like a man or not.
