NBA Draft

Bold prediction. The reports mentioned that he would likely need surgery in the future right? If that's even 3-4 years down the road, then he'd still be worth picking in the second round. I don't think he'd slide much further than early 2nd round. I'm betting he'll still be a first rounder.

Yeah concerns about his hip have really tanked his stock. A couple months ago people were arguing for the Bulls to take him in the lottery. I still think he would be a pretty good value in the 2nd round.

I'll take that bet and say 2nd round or undrafted.

Wasn't sure where to post this article but found it to be a good read (despite the subtle jab at Groce) on Caris LeVert.

Oh wow, the narrative I'd seen posted here and written elsewhere was that Groce didn't want to take Caris from Ohio and wanted him to honor his commitment there. Not that Groce was leaving Caris behind or didn't think he could cut it at Illinois. I wonder what really went down there.

LOL. This narrative is just silly. If the coach expected the player to honor his commitment, he'd need to hold his own commitment to the player. No recruiting process fails to discuss things like player development and promises of that nature from the coach about the impact they'll make on the player. I'd side with Caris' telling of the events over an IL narrative that is ultimately pretty naive

Always thought it was more Groce didn't want to take a commit from Ohio more than he expected Lavert to stay with Ohio. That is completely acceptable in my opinion and a high class thing to do even if CL would have helped the Illini over the past few seasons. Honestly I don't believe for a second Groce told him he wasn't good enough for the B1G. That just isn't the type of person he is. I am fairly confident he simply broke off contact when he took the UI job out of respect for his former employer.

Should be fun tonight. Hopefully the Bulls have another trick up their sleeves.

Sources in Perth, Australia tell me Thon Maker could be as old as 24. But, again, it's not something that can be proven, either way"

And nobody is surprised one bit. I had that suspicion when I first saw his 8th grade mixtape.

I'm reading about this and it sounds legit. Apparently a reporter insisted he show his ID and it was printed in hieroglyphics :thumb:

But like, what "sources" could those possibly be?

It's all quite silly. If he falls to the Bulls 2nd round pick I hope they snap him up.

Another fact, RSCI Top 3 recruits are 51-for-51 being drafted and will be 54-for-54 when Ben Simmons, Skal Labissiere and Jaylen Brown go off the board tonight.

I found this most interesting:

201 of 319 five-star prospects from 2003-14 have been drafted by an NBA team.

That means 37% of 5* prospects end up not being drafted.

I see we took Denzel. im okay with it. As much as I hated seeing him at MSU, he continued to tear it up. Hopefully that continues.

By "tear it up" do you mean his knees?? But seriously, he's going to be significantly more enjoyable than Jose Calderon....

10 of the top 16 draft picks are international players, either foreign-born or have spent a great part of their life playing abroad (e.g., Sabonis was born in the US but played most of his early basketball years abroad).

Per Caris LeVert:

"We won by 10, on the road, at Illinois....which it just so happens, is the team I wasn't good enough to play for a few years earlier."

I'm here to eat my crow about Ulis. I said he would go first round, well, first round came and gone.

Deyonta Davis not picked in 1st round, despite invited to green room.
