Unfortunately, Charlie is currently at +6 and Nick is at +7 at the point of suspended play today. The good is that the early projected cut could be right at that line of 5, 6, 7 or 8 over. Hopefully with the good weather ruling the long Friday day of golf, these guys can maintain and make the cut.

Congrats to DJ, in spite of the insanely idiotic actions of the USGA against him.

Yeah, nice to see DJ finally get one. He was able to play steady golf while the rest of the contenders wilted.

On the Illini side, both Detry and Campbell ended up with 2nd place finishes. After only 2 starts on the European Challenge tour, Detry is at #22 on their points list, top 15 get tour cards next season, so he's likely to be playing alongside countryman Thomas Pieters next year. Campbell is up to #9 on the web.com money list, so is pretty close to securing a PGA Tour card for 2017.

At French Open midpoint, Pieters T-9, Detry T-18. Reason to get up early. :shield:

Charlie Danielson also makes the cut at his first pro event, had to birdie his last hole to play the weekend and he eagled it instead.

He also eagled it yesterday, could earn some big charity $$ for those two holes.

I'm going to call a top 5 for Stricker this week. That's just who he is especially after The Open. As for TP, looking forward to seeing a lot of TV time for him.
Points, Guthrie, Langley and Affrunti need to step it up.
Saw that Charlie D. had a decent web.com outing last week.
Go Golfing Illini!!

Yes, Charlie D finished in the top 15 last week which got him into this week's web.com event. It's a long shot, but if he keeps playing well he could get into the finals and have a chance to earn his PGA card for next season.

I think Affrunti is done, doesn't have any status left. He managed to parley an injury exemption that happened 4-5 year ago into several seasons of limited PGA tour play, but that's over.

Unless they get a big finish in the last few PGA events, it looks like Guthrie, Langley and Points will all have to go through the web.com finals to get their cards for next season.

It appears that both Stricker and Pieters have made the weekend of the PGA.
Cut currently looks to be +2, while Stricker is -1 and Thomas is +1.
Well done
