Yeah I mean Kyle Long can't recover from his shoulder injury but you know JJ Watt is invincible so that back surgery he had in July can't possibly slow him down. :tsk:

It is reported that Kyle has a torn labrum and is suffering from dislocations. That is not something that heals itself. He basically cannot raise his arm above shoulder level or press up with any force. If all this is true than no, Kyle can't recover and needs surgery before he injures it even more.

JJ is on the other side of that schedule. He has already had the surgeries and has been rehabbing frantically. I read that he tore his core muscles away from his rib cage. No doubt there will be limitations, but let's face it, he is a freaky athlete. :thumb:

I'm seeing power rankings all over the place putting the Bears as one of the 5 worst teams in the NFL. Sorry, but that isn't happening not with this coaching staff. This team will compete and keep improving.

They still have a couple years to go in the rebuilding process, but they really do have a realistic shot at the playoffs this year.

So you think that the Bears are going to be better than both Green Bay and Minnesota this year? :hand: Maybe not bottom 5, but even with 10 wins there will be no playoffs.

I'll predict a 4-12 finish. Wins against Tennessee, Philadelphia, and Detroit, with a random win thrown in the mix.

4-12??? Really??? I mean I'm not sold on the Bears either but I'm not that down on them. I think 8-8 sounds about right for them this year.

Just my opinion as a casual fan. Relatively unproven second year RB, Gase is gone, WR health, weak at TE. Defense looks solid so far today.

To me that adds up to a bad season.

Man we looked good in the first half. Second half Jay's pick looked like Kevin White stopped running. We also had a ton of squandered opportunities. I felt like jay was under pressure on throws before he could even set his feet. Running didn't seem too bad though. I was surprised because I don't remember any screens or draws. The ways the Texans were getting off the snap I thought maybe we should have tried that.

Kevin White had a tough game. That pick was his fault and he had a few drops that should've been caught.

I wish we would've ran the ball more. Langford looked good. Really surprised we didn't see Howard. He was great in the preseason.

I was surprised, I thought the stadium was kind of calm for a season opening game as well.

It's just the first game but the chemistry between he and Cutler was pretty awful. White certainly needs to work on his route trees.

Defense looked better than they were most of last year. Couple of those throws by Osweiler were great throws that would have been hard for any DB to defend.

Did something happen to Tracy porter? After his pick I was ecstatic. Then I felt like he wasn't on the field as much as normal in the second half.

Not sure. Concussion like symptoms returning maybe? Just speculation on my part.

Another thing that did not happen after the half. No successful down field throws. Alshon looked good in the first half, but there were very few deep throws in the second. There were several instances where Jay winced and grabbed his side after throwing the ball. That Texans D-line is savage.

Kevin White :hurl:

I know its early but I just don't have a good feeling about White. He doesn't pass the "eye" test. The day he was drafted all I heard Bears' brass talking about was how he would blow the top off the defense with his great downfield speed. To me it looks like he's just plodding around out there. Also thanks for getting rid of M. Bennett for nothing. I think we are really going to miss him as the season progresses.

Time will tell with White. He missed a whole year of football and is really just getting his feet wet. He'll hopefully improve on his play as the year progresses.

As for the Black Unicorn, I think he was let go for being more of a headache than anything.

Waiting all day for Monday night.
Hopeful that the Bears pull out a W in their home opener tonight.
Bears o-line will need to block the edge rushers of the Eagles, the Bears pass rush will need to pressure the rookie qb early and often, and they will need good play out of their depleted defensive backfield, but this is a winnable game. Alshon could come up big and it would be nice to see Kevin White silence some of his critics.

I respect Wentz for fighting for every yard, taking some big hits, and popping right back up. But one of these times he gets hit he won't be able to get up. He's going to learn real quick to get down or out of bounds.

This team is worse then I thought they were. About 6 people hurt so far this game and just weak mentally. Cutler reverts back to his old self. This offense is dreadful. Losing Adam Gase looks to be really hurting us. Gonna be 2-3 years more before this team is good if us fans are lucky.

I would be completely fine with tanking this year to draft Kizer. Or grab some more defense and OL then take Chad Kelly in round 3 or 4. Hindsight is 20/20, but drafting Prescott would've been really nice.

I would be fine with giving the 1st round pick to the Pats for Garopollo, too. But I don't see that happening. The Pats would be crazy to give him up.

Not to pick on you in particular, but as an aside, I love it how everyone acts like they know exactly where QB's are going to be drafted in September.

Remember when Andre Woodson was a first round lock? Remember when Cam Newton was just a runner?

These things are fluid.

What does seem to be getting less fluid is the idea that the Bears will be looking for a new starting QB sooner rather than later. But that is far from the only problem. The secondary tonight, woof.

I'm going to keep tuning into the Illini because Illini. But I'm not sure why I should spend another minute paying attention to this Bears team.

Hopefully the Cubs can go deep enough in the playoffs to get me to basketball season.
