People keep saying all is not lost if we don't get Wilkes, and they're right as far as that goes, but don't overlook one very attractive benefit of him coming here: the opportunity to watch the mother of all meltdowns on the Hoosier boards.

Hope I'm wrong, but as of now it's :

Mayan Kiir - VCU
Kris Wilkes - IU
Abu Kigab - Oregon

Haven't heard anything on Jacob Epperson.

FIFY. I actually don't know about 2 of them. I still think we'll be fine if we miss on all three.

I'm really interested as to why you are so certain he is going to IU, while the Hoosier boards are freaking out right now...

At best I think the Wilkes situation is DJack 2.0

Don't know about that. I think many thought we had a shot with DJack. With Wilkes I don't foresee the classic Illini fan board meltdown that we all know and love. Only a melt-up potentially in this case.

ties will be resolved
I thought we had a decent shot at Kiir, but alas, looks like 0 for 3 is a foregone conclusion now.

Ludicrisp. Admire boldness, but making definitive statements about what 18 yos are going to do is beyond me. Granted, Kigab is not going to be an Illini. Wilkes, probably not. But Kiir? Hardly a foregone conclusion.

As to today's offer, smart coaches hedge their bets.

If there is a melt down over a kid who is definitely not coming to Illinois, that would be hilarious.
We need an aggressive 4/5 and the class is awesome. JFG is creeping back. :chief:
I would love to see this guy recruit coming off a solid 2 years of going to the tourny and winning a few games there.:chief:
