I have been a supporter of Groce but enough is enough. At least with Weber you saw defense. Seniors don't even D up properly. How many times are they going to show up unprepared? It's time to go. What are our realistic options? Can Whitman hit a homer like he did with Lovie?

This game should make for an interesting film session. Was there a single positive?

Groce is making Whitman's decision easier and giving him a head start on the search.

I think if we get a good hire, we can keep the class...although that should not be the priority by any means.

Yep...if they stay great but we have to blow this thing up. If that means losing some of them so be it. Can't keep this YMCA staff any longer

I will be the first to speak up for Groce as a great figurehead for the team and university. I also think he is a great leader and father figure for young men. Unfortunately, when purely watching the way he coaches in-game, I do not have faith as the future head coach of this basketball program.

Do the above traits matter when hiring a coach? Yes absolutely, however at the end of the day winning games and NCAA tourney success is the most important factor for building/maintaining a fan base and a program.

The success of a program is based on a system in place that is consistently successful year in and year out. When you win games, everything else falls into place.

I understand we may lose recruits and I agree Groce is a great person, but unless something changes with his coaching philosophy we will be stuck in this rut of mediocrity. What is the point of even recruiting great talent if they are place in a system that is broken?

If he was smart he'd leave before the Bulls fired him

Hoiberg isn't getting fired this year. He has three more years after this at 5 million per. The Bulls are young (other than 3 or 4 guys)and are likely to get younger. It is far more likely that Foreman will be let go. Paxson should be too, but given JR's past that doesn't figure to happen.

Now I'm not saying Groce can be the guy but i don't want to see getting stuck with Martin and go through this again in a few years.

I think there are still some people out there who just don't realize how dire our current situation is.

I think the consensus is that everyone would love to have him, but nobody thinks we could get him.

You would think after 10 years at Wichita he would be ready for a change and a new challenge.

100% agree. If our best option is Martin we should just give Groce one more year to prove he can coach. I would hate to be locked into another 5 year plan with Martin. He's better than Groce, but his ceiling is mediocrity.

Alot of talk on Twitter about Tony Bennett. We could offer him 3.5 mil and see what happens.
