Yeah, think I'd mentioned that earlier in this thread. Definitely the most likely scenario. I'm more interested in the recruiting areas for aforementioned reasons, namely that Williams and Abraham are overlapping a LOT

The footprint we are putting in Florida may require both of them

Can't really have too many guys in the recruiting hotbed that Florida is. If Abraham can recruit close to the level of Ward, maybe that gives Ward a chance to focus more on other areas (not that he hasn't done well in those areas either!)

Probably the best place in the country to have some overlap though.

If he was defensive coordinator at IMG, why couldn't he be a linebacker coach? Maybe a selling point for him to grow and learn?

Because if you have an NFL player who played corner in this system at the highest level possible it makes sense to let him coach corners?

I just assumed that he would be the LB coach. Like you said he's a DC now and he's interviewing for McGarigle's job so I would expect him to coach the LBs.

Hardy Nickerson was on Werner's podcast and said he would be coaching Linebackers. 9 year former pro and pro-bowler in this defense st CB seems like a pretty good selling point

Wow! What a scoop by Illinidarrin. Still don't know how he did it. I'm really excited about this potential hire. This puts a lot of kids at IMG in play.

Scout had it first.

This is why I say don't count us out for Griffith or anyone else for that matter. We literally have an NFL coaching staff

This hire was more about providing another recruiter like Ward and less about trying to free time up for Ward.

If Abraham can help reel in even a few of the IMG kids, he would be a home run hire IMO. Get that IMG > ILL pipeline flowing. Ideally land 1 of Verdis Brown or Houston Griffith in year 1. Landing both of them or 1 of them and a few "lesser" IMG players gives the 2018 class potential to be elite

Won't be officially announced until the AM, but cool to see it wrapped up quickly with a solid hire. Enjoying that theme of the last ~year, clean searches, good results :thumb:

Lovie "Man on Fire" Smith is assembling an all star group of Lovettes as assistants.

I'm regularly more impressed with Lovie. Always been a south side of the street guy, but it's clear that the momentum is to the north

I cant hep but be amazed at the guys Lovie has brought in. Lovie always seemed to be a guy helping former players get a step up in the coaching game. I'm curious on what former bears decide to coach and if they show up in C-U for a few years. Fingers crossed for an Urlacher led LB and Tillmon led secondary. I'm only half way kidding.
