Agree. I ignore everyone's CB except Jerry Meyer, so his earlier Tilmon to Mizzou pick + this = a raised eyebrow.
Am I wrong in remembering that Jerry Meyer admitted that he was wrong about Tilmon after he retweeted his initial commitment?

i thought smbd posted earlier that it was a done deal of Kiir to LSU
I would totally be okay with this. >_>
I think that he ends up at Mizzou, and Mark Smith and Mayan Kiir are both Illini.
I think Tilmon is just a little un$ure of what to do at this point.
Not going to spin this or sugarcoat it. Tilmon doing this is going to set us back years. Similar situation to Cliff.
In hindsight, maybe we should have taken Cuonzo. We would all be thrilled with his incoming class. Say what you will about his coaching ability, but 90% of college hoops is recruiting. Cuonzo seems ready and willing to play in the grey area. Watch out when he lands Mark Smith...
I'm hopeful for Kirr and Smith and that will get us on the right track. Do I expect it? No.

Not that it matters, but are we sure Tilmon is going to Missouri? Is St. Louis still in play?
Also, does this mean Smith probably isn't coming to Champaign? I am sure we are not out of the conversation, but I would think that this hurts our chances.

I'm not so sure Tilmon would have stayed if Groce was retained. He was a little flakey and unsure before he signed.
With Mizzou's roster filling out with a couple of burger boys (who are in his ear every day), an exESL player/new coach popping into his school 48 hrs earlier whispering advice, and a Stl. media frenzy encouraging it - I'm not so sure a weakened John Groce could have defended this. Could you imagine if this was happening now with Groce still here? Feels like Bruce Weber all over again.
I'm not prepared to make statements like that yet. Don't discount what it's like to have Porter texting you, saying how great next year could be.I think Tilmon is just a little un$ure of what to do at this point.
How do you think we got Tilmon's commitment in the first place? And why did he delay signing back in November? To think we (or any other power 5 school) dont operate in the grey area is foolish.
I would taken Underwood over Cuonzo every time. Sure Cuonzo is making a splash with some recruits, but for the most part coaching wins out. No question that Underwood is a better coach than Cuonzo.
TouchéNot to re-legislate a long-standing tenet of message boardism, but do such recruits exist? Recruits that don't want to be here....go elsewhere.
Talent matters though.
