I'd be more excited to grab Hinson than Giorgi. I like Giorgi's skillet, but I worry about his athleticism at this level. I admittedly haven't seen enough of him, but what I've seen doesn't fill me with confidence that he's much of an athletic upgrade over someone like Finke.

Hinson on the other hand has that tweeter games that I think works well in this offense. Someone that is physical enough to do some banging but can also step out and hit a shot.

Agree, though I hope Hinson doesn't spend too much on his "tweeter" game. He needs to focus on class and hoops, and less on social media. :D

For me as it stands now:

Take one of Hinson/Jones/Caroline and Giorgi.

If TJL leaves, take the JC PG

If Matic leaves, take an additional guy out of the Hinson/Jones/Caroline group.

Probably unlikely it all falls this way at this point but I think if the above were to happen we would have great depth and balance moving forward.

You take Caroline regardless of who's leaving, otherwise I agree. I think we end up with 3 additional players, but I wouldn't be all that surprised if we ended up with 4. The fact that we're still involved with HS/Juco PGs, wings, and bigs—plus a likely 5th year—suggests to me that this tear down might be even bigger than we thought.

PG - You obviously take Ramey, but appears we're interested in another PG even without Ramey (Feliz).

Wing - Jones is a definite take, but I would push for Hinson and force Jones make a decision. Drawing things out hasn't gone well for us in the past.

Bigs - I don't think they'd use a visit on Giorgi unless they wanted to take him, and given his offer list, I think he'll be an Illini. In this offense, I think Griorgi is a 5 (or whatever you want to call the tallest guy on the floor). On the fifth year market, I think we go after a Cunningham or Caroline tweener type guy—and despite what's been reported I still think Cunningham is a possibility.

Well, we just accepted two of those in Griffin and Kane...

Griffin is a 3 star according to ESPN and Rivals.

Kane is a 4 star on ESPN website and a 3 star on 247 and Rivals.

Does IL have any interest in Brangers? Remember the weeks worth of posts & then nothing

Brangers apparently has some unspecified red flags that have caused the staff to back way off on his recruitment.

Also in case you missed it someone quoted Caroline's sister for what it's worth saying "no way is he transferring to Illinois"

I like Giorgi's skillet too. His breakfast skillet is probably his best imo, but what do I know?

I like how Feliz looks in the video...kind of a ramped up TJL...more athletic and a better shot. However, I am not suggesting that I would like to replace TJL, I like him and hope this is just an "in case" situation.

Liddell Mr. Basketball. Ayo 3rd.

And here are the votes, really a 3-man race:

432 votes: EJ Liddell, Belleville West

335 votes: Talen Horton-Tucker, Simeon

290 votes: Ayo Dosunmu, Morgan Park

I didn't know Giorgi could cook. That sounds like a real boon for the team on game days.

I'm thinking the Northern Illinois voters split their vote between Talen and Ayo. However, anyone of these guys deserved it.

Ok, I'm getting hammered on that post. I was in line at Au Bon Pain waiting for my breakfast sandwich when I sent that post from my phone! Food-related autocorrect issues were inevitable! :D

Given the way the season ended, Liddell is probably most deserving. THT had a stellar year on a great Simeon team and deserved to be ahead of Ayo given that he was hurt for a key stretch. Also, the fact that we didn't get Belleville West vs Simeon in the title game was a tragedy—would have been epic.
