Cardinals sending Tommy Pham to the Rays for 3 minor leaguers.
Cardinals also made a rare straight prospect for prospect trade with the Indians sending Oscar Mercado to Cleveland.
Wonder how Pham holds up playing on turf?

Im not sure what to make of the trade. I do think its going to open up opportunities for the younger guys to play in the outfield. I think some of Pham's comments from early in spring training might have agitated the front office to make this move for more long term stability.
Tyler o’neil Flashing some serious leather today!

Cardinals claim Tyson Ross off waivers from the Padres.
he might provide some nice insurance if someone gets hurt. At this point, this is a very low risk move. I dont mind it.Cardinals claim Tyson Ross off waivers from the Padres.
Would someone please send Wong away! Good lord get the bat off your shoulders. I just don't get it he stinks, great glove but how do u let him pitch hit with the bases loaded and he just stands there.
Well the pitch was ball 4. It was clearly outside.
Luke Weaver scratched from today's start after cutting his finger opening the aluminum foil lid on his food during last night's game. Super glue was applied to the cut but it had still not healed to the point where he could pitch today.
Tyson Ross set to start in Weaver's place.
What a random fluke thing to happen. I guess this is why we have Ross. It pitched serviably well, no complaints. Less see if we can finish off this game. currently 5.5 back. It would be nice to shrink that gap.
The bats are hotttttt! Games left against teams in contention.
Brewers - 6
Dodgers-7
Nats - 7
Braves - 3
Pirates - 6
Cubs - 3
Rockies - 3
Tough schedule but if they make the playoffs, they've earned it.
Next two and a half weeks, they'll face only .500+ teams. They've got the Nats for 4 and the Brewers for 3 at home this week. They then travel to the Dodgers and Rockies for 3 games apiece before hosting the Pirates for 3 games.
The only series they have left with sub .500 teams are 3 separate 3 game weekend series, 2 of which will be at home. Starting with 3 games vs. the Reds on Labor Day weekend. They then play at Detroit the following weekend. And then host the fading Giants for 3 games at home the next to last weekend of the regular season.
