I always thought his style of play fit in the big ten.
Yeah. I agree. He has never had a losing record in conference and only one losing record (barely) in all of his seasons as a head coach where he coached a full season. His record is far, far better than Lasagna's ever was and yet somehow hasn't been woo'd into a P5 job as Becks was. He's still relatively young, too (47) so has plenty of years left. I honestly think he'd be a great hire if it ever happened.Y'know Rod Carey gets like no credit and no future Illinois coach buzz despite having an in-state team better than us year after year after year.
He should be on the list.
The one guy we poached from that staff (Thad Ward) is our best local recruiter.
Peanut Tillman for DC?
Jk jk
Louisville fires Bobby Petrino

Pretty pretty please relieve us of Jeff Brohm
Indeed. Brohm has a chance to take advantage of a weak Big Ten West and make Purdue a top-25 team. Let's hope they regress back to the mean and suck for perpetuity.
Though it's weird to see Brohm's team pull off huge upsets in dominating fashion (Ohio State), and look like steaming garbage against Minnesota. That team is either white hot, or stone cold.
I was also at that fiasco. Was undergrad during Moeller's years at the helm, many a Saturday we would be walking around campus, hear a cheer and suddenly realize that there was a football game going on. Many don't understand how low things sank under Moeller.
I don't know very much about defensive schemes. Is there a DC out there running a more modern version of Lovie's defense he could bring in?

I think Gary Patterson uses something like it from time to time at TCU. Here's an article that goes into it better than I could:

Pellini or Bielama for DC.
BTW - is this year the start of Wiscy's slide back to mediocrity (or worse?!)
I am not condoning any kind of a switch. I just want to point out that next year we will have a Junior Jake Hansen, transfer Milo Efler. 2nd tiers of soph Kahlen Tolsen and true freshman Shammond Cooper. That's "decent" LB depth. Not great or good, but improvedAlso worth noting we right now run a base 4-2-5. Not too many programs are running that as their base defensive set, so would be interesting if we brought it a new DC if that would remain the case. Switching to a 4-3 wouldn't be too difficult, I'm just not sure we have the LB depth to make it work
