And that wasn’t opening bars in the weeks before the purported “bubble” gets blown.Would've made much more sense to use a city that actually has a beach!

Bill -- my man!! Love you bro!!!Bill Walton on ESPN’s Daily Wager show just listed Illinois as #2 on his top 5 list — behind Gonzaga and in front of Baylor, Michigan and Florida State.
um, no. go replay the AZ E8 gameBill -- my man!! Love you bro!!!
Sorry, I appreciate John Wooden, the UCLA Bruin dynasty, guys who partied with Ray Manzarek of the Doors, and wacky color commentators. (Oh yeah, and he loves & respects our Illini basketball history.)um, no. go replay the AZ E8 game
Alabama is good candidate to win out IMO. I see Arkansas as their main competition for SEC tourney...and they have their own National coach of year candidate with Oates.Exactly. As long as we don’t collapse or have OSU, Alabama, or WVU win-out then Illinois should be a #1
I think it's collapse AND one of those others win out. Collapse = lose to OSU and lose 1st round game in BTT.Exactly. As long as we don’t collapse or have OSU, Alabama, or WVU win-out then Illinois should be a #1
The staff is really really goodJust take a moment to remember where we were just a few seasons ago when BU took the job...now we’re playing for a #1 seed in The Dance. Amazing turnaround by everyone involved in the program, and a testament to the players who just kept working. I know Ayo is an Illinois basketball god now...and he deserves it...but I will always love Trent and DMFW for this.
To beat ‘em all, you gotta beat ‘em all.Fact is that after the first game, every team they play will be good. Can't worry about who it is. Have to be able to play good teams, beat them.....or go home. If you're worried about dodging teams or finding an easy path....then deep down you don't have much belief in this group. A true Final Four/National Championship contender mows down the team in front of them.
Freshly updated Bracket Matrix has us firmly in the final 1 seed position. Have to think one more win is likely enough to lock it up barring an Iowa or OSU BTT championship. View attachment 7770
Yesterday there was a bracket that had us as a 5-seed. And it had been updated on 3/2. Some wacky stuff out there.Apparently there is a bracket out there where Wisconsin doesn't make it.

EDIT: It's the KPI one. They moved us to a 4-seed now. Getting warmer.
EDIT2: And they're the ones who left Wisconsin out entirely too. Incredible.
The"Conference of Champions"? Surely you jest.geez, the PAC12 sucks at basketball and football
quickly becoming a mid major in the big sports

Let’s volunteer for a 16 seedFact is that after the first game, every team they play will be good. Can't worry about who it is. Have to be able to play good teams, beat them.....or go home. And a play in game for good measureLet’s volunteer for a 16 seed
Of course, if you beat Gonzaga in the first round (to get it out of the way), you then step into their one-seed schedule, and we don't want that...Let’s volunteer for a 16 seed
Why not? Let's just get Baylor or Gonzaga out of the way early.Let’s volunteer for a 16 seed
I remember when Arizona lost in the elite 8I agree with you, if we're playing well, we can beat anyone. But I have a different take on the seeding. I think it's critical we get a 1 seed - given we avoid Baylor and Gonzaga's bracket (if we are a 2 seed we will be in one of their brackets if UM and OSU are the other 1's). Our odds of reaching the final four are about 2x if we don't have to go through one of those two teams - we are capable of beating them, but they will be a much tougher opponent than any of the 2 seeds. Getting to a Final Four would be huge for the program. National exposure, reputation, recruiting, reward for the players - all of that makes a huge difference if you make the final four or not - nobody remembers who lost in the elite 8
