Staff took him very early in the cycle. Massive assistant coaching changes took place, Chester came in with a group of guards he liked (2 of which we have landed, hopeful to be more soon) and he got recruited over. Also rumors that there were attitude issues both on and off the court that the staff didn't find out until after he was committed. The staff had the talk with him awhile ago, and he was essentially "fake" committed for at least weeks/maybe months while they knew all along he wasn't a take anymore (can't talk publicly about recruits until signing day, I believe, meaning that Bass could keep tweeting and pretending he was a part of the class all he wanted)Is there more to the Bass de-commitment? I know it will be a loaded backcourt next year but I saw very little chatter about him moving on and what little chatter I did find implied that the staff may have suggested it. He seemed all in (yes, I know they always do) and he appeared to have a good summer.
Obviously he decided recently that enough was enough, and once he finally accepted that they weren't going to take him he opened up his recruitment to hopefully give him adequate time to find a new home. Think that covers most of it.
