I know my Oregon State team is worse, and has been for awhile I think. Are they still the actual worst-rated P5 team in NET?
EDIT: Oops Bucktown said that above.

Missouri easily beats Kansas in football. And Kansas beats Mizoo in basketball in a blowout. While a rivalry not much of a game. And they haven't played much since Mizoo went SEC.I'd say Texas vs. Texas A&M but neither fanbase gives a hoot about basketball. And they don't generally play each other ever since A&M left for the SEC.
Missouri vs. Kansas would be the other cross-conference basketball rivalry that is similar. Whether or not Mizzou fans care more about the Illinois game or the Kansas game depends on which side of the state they're from.
Cognitive dissonance.
Conveniently they leave out the part where he played for us: https://mutigers.com/staff-directory/rich-mcbride/1989
Those lower bowl seats have probably been available to the general public for awhile. Could be Illini fans scooping them up.Looks like tickets are slowly starting to sell. Just bought mine and was lucky enough to get in the lower bowl for face value. It definitely looks like there will be a pro-Illini crowd, but Mizzou's side is starting to sell at least past the point of embarrassment.
Illini lower bowl is completely sold out, as are our upper deck seats between the baselines. Our upper deck seats behind the basket are about 50% sold out, with the remaining seats being directly behind the hoop or in the nosebleeds in the corner.
Mizzou's lower bowl is 75% sold out, with the remaining seats being behind the basket. Their upper deck sections are almost entirely unsold behind the basket, but the upper sections between the baselines are almost all gone. I've heard it's easy to scalp for this game, so I am hoping some fans show up on Wednesday and are able to get super cheap tickets and help fill the place up a bit more. Right now, upper bowl tickets are $52.00 from the venue.
EDIT: Kind of a silly question, but do venues bring ticket prices down anymore if it's not sold out? I am on an embarrassingly long streak of using StubHub, and this is the first time I have bought tickets through the venue. Seems silly to keep upper deck tickets that haven't sold at $52 a piece if you might at least sell them for something in the days before the game...
Hope you're right!! I would hate to see a completely empty upper bowl on one side for my first Braggin' Rights Game, though I am prepared for the sight. I want it either filled with Mizzou fans to enhance the atmosphere or - even better - filled with orange to both enhance the atmosphere AND embarrass Mizzou! Those lower bowl seats have probably been available to the general public for awhile. I’m thinking since they have a bowl game at the same time and if you’ve seen any highlights from their home games, I’m guessing Illinois will overload each side. Not sure if their band will be there either.Hope you're right!! I would hate to see a completely empty upper bowl on one side for my first Braggin' Rights Game, though I am prepared for the sight. Heritage Bank Center in Cincinnati (formerly Riverfront Coliseum) holds over 17,000.6) Indiana vs. Kentucky in Louisville, KY - I put this lower because there is literally no way in hell UL would allow them to use their arena for this, lol. You could do this one in Indianapolis, too, but that isn't really a "true neutral site," though I have no doubt UK would fill up its half.
Long-winded point being that Braggin' Rights is very unique and quite cool.
Oh, it's really easy. We live by the 3, we die by the 3. Clang! Clang! Clang!I don’t see us dropping this game, I just don’t.
Should BU set up a Zoom call for the team to personally apologize to you, or are you holding out for handwritten apologies?I just re-watched the Arizona game. Wow talking about sloppy and throwing away the game!
1. 2 minutes to go in the game Kofi gets ball down low tries to score with three dudes hanging on him Instead of passing out to top of wide open Trent!
2. Next possession, he gets the ball at the free-throw line exhausted, he shoots up a jumper from free throw line!
3. Kofi loses the ball and they get a 3 v 1 lay up,Game over! not mention 5 sec. Call on Plummer, damn son learn to play defense also!
4. Jacob Granderson, 3-point shots from the three line even though he only gets off the floor 2 inches/ awesome. please no more running jump shots or bank shot floaters.
4. Omar Payne take a shower, red bull, coffees, wake up, and play hard. I don't know if it's your effort or what's between your ears? you got so much talent and the reason I bring this up? We need you!
If Missouri punches us in the mouth the way they have the last three years with Ayo, Kofi, and Trent this is going to be a game! there ain't no blowouts here. It's Missouri and Illinois in St Louis.
Arizona punked and punched us! We lost and we made horrible decisions. I still can't figure out why we cannot hang on to the damn ball even with curbelo out. By the way Curbelo was available. 6 turnovers per game..
Don't get Punked by Mizzou!! Please!!!!
ColemanHawkins, come back 20lbs more next year, jump higher, don't jack up 3's and quick being cry baby!
Finally, since Mike Davis we have had NO 6.8, 6.9 power forward and it will kill us!
Is his game more inside or outside? I’d say DMW without knowing. BBV in spurts like you say if he’s more interior oriented. Hawk in spurts if he’s more perimeter oriented. So who gets the defensive assignment on Kobe Brown 6’8” and 255#? Would have looked like a Hawkins assignment a couple of games ago. Still does IMO but would have to be DMW or Grandy at this point. Going to be a load for either one of those. Actually would like to see BBV get him for a time. Could give us an option for big 4’s in the BIG.
I think he is all interior. Rebounding leader and lousy three pt percentage. Will be a load for DMW.Is his game more inside or outside? I’d say DMW without knowing. BBV in spurts like you say if he’s more interior oriented. Hawk in spurts if he’s more perimeter oriented.
I think we need Grand on Pickett.
Going to game tomorrow with 2 teenage boys. Any recommendations for places to eat before game???

Johnny's in Soulard would have been the perfect place for teenage boys.Going to game tomorrow with 2 teenage boys. Any recommendations for places to eat before game???

good presser.....i got a kick out of the times BU had the Orange block I's on either side of his head kinda looked like reindeer antlers.........
My biggest fear is who the refs will be........seriously............So looking at matchups for this one, their 2 leading scorers are Brown, 6’8 250, and Davis, transfer from Green Bay at 6’2, 175. Thankfully Drew Smith is gone. He was super tough and absolutely killed us on both ends and may be the single biggest reason we lost 3 in a row IMO.
I actually think Coleman could give Brown problems but I don’t see anyone else for Kofi to guard, so assuming he will match up on Brown. He doesn’t appear to be much of a 3 pt shooter but I do think he likes to face up. Hopefully Kofi is up to the challenge and of course, I don’t think Brown can check Kofi on the other end.
Davis, not super worried about. At 6’2 I think Trent should be able to shut his water off.
Picket always plays well against us but I think a combo of Jake and Coleman should be able to slow him down okay.
Other than that they do have some size but absolutely no shooting. If we could score against Zona’s length I think we should be able to score against Mizzou.
My one fear for this game is we are bound to have a regression game shooting wise where we shoot 8-28 or something like that. Hopefully we can score more efficiently from 2 than we did against Zona if our 3’s aren’t falling.
On paper we are clearly the better team but that’s been true the past 3 years. Guessing they will come out physical as can be and try and get in our heads. If we can prevent back cuts and/or bullyball from their bigger wings on defense and not get flustered by physical play on offense we should win. But it’s going to be a battle.
