Definitely a chance at Murray but a ton of coaches are in NOLA right now for the final four so a lot of the guys who just hit the portal haven’t started the entire process yet. Once guys set up their visits it will start to become a lot more clear. That’s why it was always ludicrous to call a guy a lock somewhere when he hasn’t even taken his visits yet.If no TSJ, any chance at Murray? Or is he blueblood-bound, too?
Class of '95, so a bit younger than you. We both would have run under Coach Newton, though!Pretty good. Ditto on seeing the York gym. Duke ‘70 here…
Skyy will end up at Illinois but TSJ… the insiders on here got way ahead of themselves with TSJ and all the credit talk is just an excuse. It was always going to be a blue blood.
What if he’s already finished 1 Bachelors degree? It can be done in 3 yrs.Doesn't HAVE to finish here, it's just that it would take 2 years to get the degree. As opposed to some other schools, where he might be able to get it in 1. If he doesn't care, it's a non-issue. But if he's concerned about getting the degree in 1 year, Illinois is obviously at a disadvantage.
If he'd already finished a bachelor's I'd assume he'd be coming in as a grad student, so it wouldn't be the same issue. What if he’s already finished 1 Bachelors degree? It can be done in 3 yrs.

I can’t stop wondering why these teenagers can’t hurry up and make important life choices like where they want to go to college so me and the other old farts on here can quit worrying. What is wrong with these kids today?Anyone else ever stop and wonder what the heck we are doing with our lives? Lol
Wowza. Wonder if the new transfer rule will incentivize ADs to keep bad coaches longer to give off a semblance of stability
Every player on the team got outta there lmao

Some people seem to be miserable, seem to want to make others miserable, and when they get called out on it often assert that they are just "realists" fulfilling their ordained purpose in life to protect "optimists" from the terrible twin dangers of enthusiasm and hope.Joined Saturday and has 11 messages of negativity. Murray State is actually in worse position. LSU is taking in a bunch of Murray commits and transfers. Murray's entire team transferred too and they're stuck with just 1 commit.Wowza. Wonder if the new transfer rule will incentivize ADs to keep bad coaches longer to give off a semblance of stability
I was gonna say, somehow, they end up taking the LSU sanctions on the chin. Good luck Steve Prohm.Murray State is actually in worse position. LSU is taking in a bunch of Murray commits and transfers. Murray's entire team transferred too and they're stuck with just 1 commit.
They're moving from the OVC to the Missouri Valley too this year, huge step up in competition. Granted the Valley has been clobbered by the portal so far.I was gonna say, somehow, they end up taking the LSU sanctions on the chin. Good luck Steve Prohm.
That was a great answer by a coach. Direct but truthful. I’d imagine some players transfer and it does work out better for them in the long run, but a bigger percentage end up in a worse situation. I think all college athletes should listen to that statement. I think it also can apply to life in general.
UNC is one to watch with Terrence Shannon.
That is what I just said in a different way. He was at Texas Tech for three years. If he earned the usual 15 per semester or 30 hrs per year, that would add up to 90 hrs. A normal bachelors degree requires 120. He would need 30 more. But if UI requires he earn 60 at UI; then only 60 transfer credits, or two years worth, would apply toward the degree. This isn't correct. The issue is that in order to get a degree from UIUC, you must complete 60 credit hours at UIUC. Shannon is likely only going to be here for one year which isn't enough to get 60 credits (usually 15 per semester is the average).
I have a hard time believing that the University President doesn't have the ability to override this requirement. He has decision making power......use it on a waiver! That is what I just said in a different way. He was at Texas Tech for three years. Assuming all that is true, if I am in those shoes; I look for a school that applies all my transfer credits toward a degree. So I would only need 30, doable in one year. That is just me.
Could he not transfer in, get 30 hours credit in one year, transfer those hours back into T-Tech and get his degree from there? That is what I just said in a different way. And I believe that is the Issue at hand. That’s why I believe in the end it will be hard for him to pass up an opportunity to attend a University that he’ll graduate after next year. Can’t blame the young man if that is what he chooses to do.That is what I just said in a different way. He was at Texas Tech for three years.
