Skyy or Epps can handle the PG duties and I'm not worried about them being freshman, with the extra Covid year super seniors in the rear view mirror, college basketball will get less experienced next year and the way most teams including us run their offenses these days it's more about getting into your specific actions and less of a dominating point guard who is running the offense. Trent avg. 4.1 APG last year as our primary point guard all season

In fact having multiple guys who can start the offense is a plus in my mind

Well ideally they’d go out and get a point from the portal. Neither guy is a program changing talent but to me Skyy’s ACL seems to have really affected him defensively where he was already pretty mediocre to begin with. I don’t think he can guard starting guards very well at all.

Skyy if healthy, is a day one starter. In my estimation, in looking at his tape, he is a 1-2 year player. Epps will be fine and will be dynamic as well.

I don't think so. I think Skyy's mindset has always been I want to score 30 points, not I want to shut my opponent down.

Defense is largely about desire. Skyy has the required athleticism, even post surgery. He needs that boot to say, you want to score 30 points, well you're not going to be on the court to do that unless you defend.

I think he could be a program changer. He is a bucket getter, a 3 level scorer. He is a guy you can say, there's 10 seconds on the clock, go score. I think having the ability to be a combo will be good for him. He will be an extra ball handler but still have the opportunity to strictly look to score while someone else handles the point at times.

How did Plummer play then?

He has a great mentality, as evident by his quick return to injury. I think and hope he’ll turn into a great player, just don’t think it’ll be this upcoming year.

I believe that we get Skyy and get whichever wants to declare first TSJ or Murray. We do not need both. With just those two, we will be loaded, Kofi back or not. Top to bottom, this would be the most talented 13 in Illinois history. Let this first domino drop then watch everything fall into place. BU is building a top notched program. Light years from 2017 when Groce had us buried in the lower half of the B1G

I think Illini recruits need to learn that if they don't accept our offer that there are other players that will.

Under Brad the Illini will not be the backup transfer plan for 4 and 5 star recruits.

-- Rogers has taken Hopkins slot.

The roster would be in great shape. One of the best on paper in a long time. But to say it would have more talent than the ‘05 team seems like a stretch to me…
