This could be a thread of it's own considering how many things I've seen but can't remember, such as _____about paying for their way, comparing them to some imaginary player who was the shiznit, growth plates.... Someone help give me a comprehensive list of code words I can use to fit in lol

Since he's graduated, he doesn't need to enter the portal. He can be a grad transfer. Just one more odd complicating angle.

And yes, correct me if I'm wrong on this.
Only true if the program he transfers to offers a degree he can't get at his current school, I believe.

Its pretty funny

We are defending B10 champions.
We just signed #8 rated recruiting class in country.

And people are predicting gloom and doom over not getting kids in transfer portal who average 10 ppg.

do you even remember Brad's predecessors

These numbers don’t pass the sniff test. There are about 350 division 1 schools, each with 13 allowable scholarship players. With the freebie year things are a bit murkier but let’s say 1/4 of students graduate. That leaves 350 x 13 x .75 = 3,423 division 1 players (rounding). That’s still a lot of transfers in the portal, but I haven’t even added in division 2 and 3 players in the calculus (which I assume are a part of those 1,420 students). In any event, it’s certainly not 3/4 of players transferring this year as this would seem to suggest.

I think in the early days of grad transfers, this issue actually came up.

I think in present day there isn't a university out there that can't craft a graduate program that is somehow in some subtle but incredibly important way different than the school they exited.

All kidding aside, has this stopped any transfers in the last five years?

And pardon me if that was snark on your part.

Interest initially. TSJs camp was the one that reached out to Illinois….then drama with the recruitment,MIF, family members….turned into his high school recruitment 2.0. Thanks but no thanks
I'm sure there is a long story to all of this, but could you sum up why MIF does not care to help Illinois? Or do they and this was just one instance? Thanks for any info!

yeah, we are in paranoia. However, I think it is more that we see the potential and how quickly the transfers change things. If we had a big time returning player, I think we would be much more calm. In the Dee/Deron freshman years, we had a senior year Cook to smooth the transition. We have a big time recruiting class and have some promising returning talent in RJ and ColeHawk along with a nice transfer in Dainja! I think Goode is a good program player that will win games with. I believe Clark will be a stud right away if healthy, but having a very good player in someone like a Nance Jr would totally allow for us to learn together while developing that young talent.

It wasn't snark. I know it is (was?) a rule on the book but wasn't sure if it, in practice, actually stopped anyone from transferring and playing immediately.

Dude....you can't post a "walk in-walk out" .gif....and then just stay in.

This is a blatant violation of .gif protocol...and quite possibly upends the Board Time .gif Continuum.

I recommend a funny entrance .gif to let the board know you have properly walked back in to post. /s
That said, some of us are proponents of loop quantum gravity, in which case time doesn’t even exist. That would allow him to be here and not be here - I guess?
