Since he's graduated, he doesn't need to enter the portal. He can be a grad transfer. Just one more odd complicating angle.Sure. But my 2 cents is that he'll enter the portal if he pulls out of the draft.
This could be a thread of it's own considering how many things I've seen but can't remember, such as _____about paying for their way, comparing them to some imaginary player who was the shiznit, growth plates.... Someone help give me a comprehensive list of code words I can use to fit in lol
You're right.Since he's graduated, he doesn't need to enter the portal. He can be a grad transfer. Just one more odd complicating angle.
And yes, correct me if I'm wrong on this.
Thanks 0440. 100% logical.Interest initially. TSJs camp was the one that reached out to Illinois….then drama with the recruitment,MIF, family members….turned into his high school recruitment 2.0. Thanks but no thanks
Only true if the program he transfers to offers a degree he can't get at his current school, I believe.Since he's graduated, he doesn't need to enter the portal. He can be a grad transfer. Just one more odd complicating angle.

These numbers don’t pass the sniff test. There are about 350 division 1 schools, each with 13 allowable scholarship players. With the freebie year things are a bit murkier but let’s say 1/4 of students graduate. That leaves 350 x 13 x .75 = 3,423 division 1 players (rounding). That’s still a lot of transfers in the portal, but I haven’t even added in division 2 and 3 players in the calculus (which I assume are a part of those 1,420 students). In any event, it’s certainly not 3/4 of players transferring this year as this would seem to suggest.
I think in the early days of grad transfers, this issue actually came up.Only true if the program he transfers to offers a degree he can't get at his current school, I believe.
I'm sure there is a long story to all of this, but could you sum up why MIF does not care to help Illinois? Or do they and this was just one instance? Thanks for any info!Interest initially. We are defending B10 champions.
We just signed #8 rated recruiting class in country.
And people are predicting gloom and doom over not getting kids in transfer portal who average 10 ppg.

I'm prepared to get banned from the board today.....lolWait till people try to argue that staying connected to MIF was smarter than getting TA ...
It wasn't snark. I know it is (was?) a rule on the book but wasn't sure if it, in practice, actually stopped anyone from transferring and playing immediately.I think in the early days of grad transfers, this issue actually came up.
I think in present day there isn't a university out there that can't craft a graduate program that is somehow in some subtle but incredibly important way different than the school they exited.
All kidding aside, has this stopped any transfers in the last five years?
And pardon me if that was snark on your part.
Guess there is so much more that I'm not aware of?Tim Anderson
That said, some of us are proponents of loop quantum gravity, in which case time doesn’t even exist. That would allow him to be here and not be here - I guess?Dude....you can't post a "walk in-walk out" .gif....and then just stay in.
This is a blatant violation of .gif protocol...and quite possibly upends the Board Time .gif Continuum.
I recommend a funny entrance .gif to let the board know you have properly walked back in to post. /s
Lot of drama in AAU basketball and a lot of drama with the Irvins. Anderson=Meanstreets MIF=Irvins......Irvins always feel slighted if they don't get what they want.Guess there is so much more that I'm not aware of?
I'm prepared to get banned from the board today.....lol
"I am maintaining my college eligibility and utilizing all of the options at my disposal..."You're right.
Irvins sound a lot like this board....Lot of drama in AAU basketball and a lot of drama with the Irvins. Anderson=Meanstreets MIF=Irvins......Irvins always feel slighted if they don't get what they want.
I'm here to offer my condolences to the MIF family on their "loss":Lot of drama in AAU basketball and a lot of drama with the Irvins. Anderson=Meanstreets MIF=Irvins......Irvins always feel slighted if they don't get what they want.
